| Re: Are You Comfortable With Nazr Mohammed As Our Starting Center? Its funny how the arguement FOR NazMo is that there isn't anyone else.
I am comfortable with him at this point. I thought Davis was enough and we could wait. He showed adequate production. It was nothing a team could hang its hat on but could become a predictable weakness...and that would make it possible to cover. He's consistent. Consistently disappointing to some but teams that bring in Nazr or Foyle or Diop know what they are getting unlike with Swift, Griffin, or Kwame Brown.
He can rebound. He along with Amir and Jason will be the guys that have to make defenses pay for trapping rip or allowing Stuckey into the lane. These guys can clean up the garbage and rack up second chance points. If all Naz manages to do is rebound, I will be satisfied.
He stays down low. People take this for granted but look at Sheed. Mmmm hmmm. Mark Blount? Lafrentz? Murphy? Murphy's pretty good but double the price. Since we have Sheed and his wandering ways, having a guy that lives down low is favourable.
He doesn't need a lot of shots. How many first or second options can we have? Would a Magliore be happy? Would Wilcox?
He's a professional. He's a glue guy. Ok he's more like elmer's than super glue but he's one of those guys. He was ready to play despite being shelved. That attitude puts him over 50% of the candidates on abe's list.
He hasn't broken down. Pryz? It didn't take long. Kristic? Out. Jeff Foster? er. maybe? I dunno. Foster has some solid games and then strings DNP's. We got that already.
But wait, there are a bunch of guys that have those qualities and better skills! Dwight Howard. No. Okafor. No. Yao. Hells No. Al Jefferson. No. Okur. No. O'neal. No. O'neal again!. No. Brad Miller. Not for that. Darko. He's gone.
To a lesser extent...
Nene. Still no. Diaw. no. Chandler. No. Curry. No.
And by "No" I mean will teams give us that for Nazr? Don't even try adding Flip in there because he has negative value.
