Happy 2nd Birthday Pistonsforum.com

September 1st each year marks the anniversary of Pistonsforum.com. The forum first opened up for registration and posting on the morning of September 1st 2005.

Since that time, we've undergone a lot of growth and developed into a substantial community of fans, opinions and information.

What started out as a simple forum has grown into a 4 sport fantasy league community, 2 sister blogs (Human Victory Cigar and Bad Boy Summer Camp), a catch all site to help members find us (www.pistonforum.com, no "s"), linkbacks from Wikipedia, Sports Illustrated, WDFN, and a strong relationship with the fan blog community (Need4Sheed, Detroit Bad Boys and others).

We've developed an active staff group to oversee, manage and advise on forum issues/initiatives. We have 14 non-staff members with more than 1,000 posts, and easily average 100 logged in member visits per day during the season, with 40 more members posting at least once daily. PF.com has gone from being a single site on a server with dozens of sites, to being the largest site on a server we lease and is 3 times more powerful than the platform we started off with on September 1st 2005.

August traditionally is our slowest month, and as we now have two of these months in the books, I have some statistical information to show the growth and reach of the forum.

August 2006
4,255 Unique Visitors with 1045 Google Searches leading to PF.com

August 2007
7,635 Unique Visitors with 2,378 Google Searches leading to PF.com

In Calendar 2007 to date, we have served 4.3 million pages. Google claims to have 77,000 pages from this forum in their search engine.

As testament to our diversity, a significant portion of our non-US/Canadian traffic comes from Australia, Japan, Saudi Arabia, China, the Czech Republic, Taiwan, Austria, Latvia, Hong Kong, Germany and Great Britain.

Everyone who has posted, linked to, volunteered or participated on the forum has had a part in developing this tremendous fan resource.

Thank you. And Happy Birthday.
