PS) I noticed a whole lot of empty seats at the Palace tonight. When the game started, hardly anyone was there. There is nothing resembling fan enthusiasm at the Palace that I have ever noticed in the many games I have attended so far this season. Just maybe the fans, expecting so much change this season, are very disenchanted seeing that all the change amounts to JMAX finally getting to play more, and Stuckey getting to play. (No, don't think for a second that Hayes is a guy who fans have been hoping to see play.) (Oh, and don't tell me they come to see Dyess play another 8 minutes a game vs. last season.) In sum, we get Stuckey as the only new player to see when we are at games. And that is very thin indeed compared to the promises Dumars made to start this season. (and very thin compared to the propaganda still being put out about how we are developing our young guys, and how they are injecting energy into the team. Its a big lie, and fans ain't being fooled.)
That place was kind of dead yesterday. There have been nights like that for the past 2 years. That sellout streak by the way is a total scam.

Coincidently it started to thin out when we lost Ben Wallace. He was the big draw. Just grabbing Billups who was the next guy in line is not making it for many. The place needs another draw.

It still gets active on weekends, during winning streaks and when a rival comes in. Your average typical weekly sleeper game sometimes gets like that.

Thing is most people could care less about watching a player develope. Only way Amir is going to pack the joint is if he plays 30 MPG and averages a double double. He is intersting but not enough for most to pay $50 and walk 1/2 mile through a freezing cold parking lot to see.

Overall its still the one of the most active times for the Piston fan base. They do have to find way to make it more exciting. Always giving 100% effort out there no matter the competition is a good way to start. There is a reason why Maxiel has been growing in popularity.
