Re: Amir Johnson - Detroit Piston Tracker Quote: JOE DUMARS: On why Tayshaun hasn't been his best, why he didn't sign Chris Webber
February 2, 2008 On Amir Johnson recently playing more:
“He’s always worked hard. He’s always worked hard, he really has. What happened was, early on he had a severe ankle sprain. I don’t know how much it was even reported on, but he was out for a while and it took him forever to come back and get to full strength from that ankle sprain. I would say about a month ago he got completely healthy, but the kid works hard everyday. This is a no maintenance kid here. This is a no ego, no maintenance, no problem kid. He’s worked his way and worked his way, and really what happens with a young guy is you have to put him on the floor and the first chance he gets to experience some success, it kind of snowballs for him. I think that’s what’s going on with him right now. He’s tasted a little bit of success over the last couple of weeks and you can see his eyes and his whole game is starting to elevate now.”
