Ben chose to leave for the money. Period. Since he left, he's barely had one good season, he's already been traded, he's missed games to injury, and he's a poor man's shadow of the old Ben Wallace.

In hindsight, Joe did the right thing by Pistons fans/team/franchise, when Ben left. If Joe had chased him, it would have clogged up the team's payroll and left us with a player who is worth half of what he would have been getting paid.

Players get old, their skills decline. It's tough to watch, it hurts to see them have to step aside, but it's reality.
