If he relentlessly forces the starters to focus on it and rewards the bench based on their defensive effort, we could see a return to form. I think many of us here agree that watching the Pistons suffocate opponents with D is about the most satisfying brand of bball to watch. Certainly not for a national audience, but for homers.

The Pistons were #1 in the entire NBA in points allowed last year (90.1 ppg). They were at or near the top in most defensive categories.

Maybe they need to improve their offense...
