Injury Report:

Boston Celtics:
Tony Allen G Knee Surgery Return early December
Marcus Banks G Foot Return around all-star break

Detroit Pistons:
Lindsey Hunter G Ankle Return early November

Overview:
The Celtics opened their season Wednesday against Larry Brown's new team, the New York Knicks, and won, 114-100, in overtime. Boston outscored New York, 20-6, in overtime and spoiled Brown's debut. But with so much youth -- Paul Pierce is the oldest player at 28 -- it will take time before the Celtics develop into a title contender. The Pistons played at near-perfection Wednesday against Philadelphia, but at times last season they had trouble sustaining intensity. A lag would help the young Celtics. Tayshaun Prince will guard Pierce.
