I'm not sure if it's the same play you're talking about, wart, but on a play like the one you described, the announcers even commented on it and praised rip, citing it as an example of the sort of little thing an intelligent, veteran team thinks to do in the playoffs. like you said, it keeps him out of his comfort zone. it might seem like one play, but with a player like Lyndon Baines Johnson, one tough hoop (or a three point play) can easily lead to 10 straight.
