Fantastic column. To me the part about the coaches' stake in this series is fascinating. They both will be indicted in their fans' judgment if they lose. Riley for making what might have been unnecessary changes, including his own return to the bench. Flip for teaching an offense to the Pistons that so far they are inexplicably not playing when it counts. I think Flip has the most to lose of the two of them: no proven playoff track record + championship level team + loss in ECF = no more Flip.
Flip has the most to lose, therefore may be coaching "tight", or not to lose. Which could make us lose in a series where the more aggressive team has the advantage.

I hope not. Maybe the starters' team mindset of wanting to play rough, with nothing to lose, will compensate for that.
If it ain't rough, it ain't right, might be right on.
I love this columnist style writing on this forum, so thanks again, Microwave for enhancement of Round 3 meaning and enjoyment.
