| Re: Fantasy Basketball Pointers You never want to consolidate your players from only a few teams. It's also not wise to carry backups for your premier players. If Kirilenko goes down, better players can be found than Matt Harpring, whose production will never be more than half of Kirilenkos.
I **believe** we can carry 13 or 15.
Fantasy bball is a raw stats sport. You can win by bludgeoning your opponent by simply accumulating more raw stats, however volume scorers generally tend to shoot a lower %, and volume rebounders/shot blockers will accumulate more fouls and lower FT% (more fouls = bad).
The goal is not to build the perfectly balanced team. In my opinion, it's to build a team that can win 40~50% of the categories each week and taking advantage of your opponent's weaknesses in other categories to steal couple more for the weekly win.
Bear in mind, fantasy basketball is a marathon, not a sprint. You want the best playoff ready roster and to make the upper playoff bracket (teams 1 ~6). It is very possible to make a run from the 6th seed, and to lose as the 1st seed. Who drafts best only sets the table. How you manage injuries, free agency and build a team with a plan to be very good in key categories is the ideal.
