in Korea they don't have traditional sports. starcraft is like the national sport, and the best players not only make tons of money, they're treated like hollywood celebrities are treated in america.
in the US, there is 'professional gaming' to some degree, but very few can make a living off of it, and even then they're not making much. to see an example of what i mean visit
