I agree that we all should have known what Larry was like before signing with the Pistons and he did do exactly what he was hired to do. He got us over the hump and
helped us win a championship and almost two. But I think the Pistons organization helped LB just as much as he helped us.
I think that both the fans and Joe D. expected that "this time will be different". We thought that Pistons basketball would make him want to stay. We thought that "playing the right way" without any superstars, just guys "goin' to work" every night would blind LB's wondering eyes. A blue collar town with a blue collar team.
I think that's what people are most upset about. We feel betrayed. LB was our first love and he dumped us. We thought we were better than all the others out there and we were wrong. He broke our collective heart.
Oh well. Now its time to get over it and move on. We've got a new man now. His name is Flip.
