Turkoglu to Pistons?

Future Piston? Hedo Turkoglu opts out of contract with Orlando | Freep.com | Detroit Free Press
Quote:
Hedo Turkoglu’s run with the Orlando Magic appears to be over.

A day after the Magic acquired Vince Carter from the New Jersey Nets, Turkoglu’s agent said today that he sent a notice to Orlando earlier this week that his client will opt out of his contract to become a free agent. Agent Lon Babby said the Magic had made Turkoglu an initial offer that Orlando general manager Otis Smith described as a “jumping off point.”

But Carter’s acquisition signals the Magic are jumping in another direction.
Should Pistons or shouldn't they? The guy's probably going to cost around $10 mil/year.

Re: Turkoglu to Pistons?

I prefer a healthy Tay over the MJ of Turkey any day. No way that guy is worth $10 mil a year.

Lowball him. Tay is a pretty strong position for us to fall back on.

Judging from the way he's upped his game the last two seasons and his propensity for getting to the basket on a regular basis...I'll take Turkeyglue over Prince at this juncture.

I might too. But this should be a buyer's market. For a small upgrade, we have the ability to be stone cold jerks when bidding at the SF position.

If there was an attractive Center up for grabs, I probably wouldn't feel this way. In that case, we'd be a desperate buyer.
