Tayshaun Will Be Traded, Not Rip

Ben Gordon was told by Dumars that the Pistons will use a three-guard offense. Rip's contract makes him nearly immovable. Tayshaun will be traded, not Rip. That's my dot-connecting.

Re: Tayshaun Will Be Traded, Not Rip

While I do think Joe is not eager to trade Rip, I can't see him passing an offer that would include a big man who can start at the 5.
Though trading Rip makes the most sense I would not be surprised if Tay was traded, but then who would be starting at SF, Daye or Summers? i don't think so....

Doesn't make sense. This team would allow 100+pts per game.

I wouldn't buy the official line. Gordon/Rip represents a logjam and we have seen what that has meant last year. Rip at small forward? Doubt it. We are still a piece away from being serious again. We need a center. Rip has to be on the block.

I hope your dot connecting is missing a few points. I am not eager to see Rip struggle through a season getting beat up by small forwards, which would surely happen. I'd much rather keep Prince.

Though you could well be right - Rip's contract is tougher to unload.

And Tay didn't??? At least Rip can hit back on the offensive end. Tay gets beat up and then goes on to drop 7 pts.

Because Rip won the "Him (MC) or Me" war, I see Rip staying. We have/had a problem scoring consistently and Tay represents a big part of that.

Yabut, we'd score nearly a hundred ourselves.

Yeah and the last team that gave up and scored 100, won the Russell Trophy this year.

Link?I think we are f*cked,if we are gonna use 3 guard offense.I don't see that working.I don't think that Dumars was so stupid to do this,if he didn't thought about RIP.Ok,if RIP can not be moved so why go for SG?This doesn't make sanse.

It will be an exciting team with no chance to do anything.
