Rather have David Lee tbh or a true C. But if we can offload rip, then that would be ideal.

CV at the 5? Don't like that but if it frees up cash so we can go after Bosh next year it'll have to do.

We would still have to go after a C imo. Boozer and CV cannot by our frontcourt for 30+ mpg.

Re: Rip and Boozer Trade Heats Up.

when I hear "heats up" it means than both sides have explored other possibilities, did not find anything better and because of this turned back to original scenario.

That has been exactly what I have felt here: this trade makes sense but...isn't there better scenarios?

If this rumor is true, then it is a sign that there is not and you have to take what is on the table.

Re: Rip and Boozer Trade Heats Up.

I still question the rational for Utah to make this trade. I understand that they can use someone like Rip, an all-star, and someone who'd be great with a proven PG. However, they were trying to unload Boozer's salary in order to sign Millsap and the difference between Rip's and Boozer's salary is only $2.4 mln. That means that after this trade Utah will still be over the cap before signing Millsap. Unless there's a 3rd party that can eat the salaries, but there are only a couple of teams with available space. So, again, why would Utah want to do this deal?

Maybe because they get Rip.

Re: Rip and Boozer Trade Heats Up.

I'd do it. I'd like to move Charlie V to the SF spot then (and Prince to the bench) and still try and acquire a center. If we can't do that, we still have Kwame.

May very well be that, but they still don't solve their salary cap issue.
