| Re: DMC trade thread is now open.. buddahfan. . . and add to that in that same six minutes, he got JMax another two free throws and an assist to (I believe it was) Delfino's trey. I feel that when I was 17 or 18 or 19, I would not have been able to handle someone handing me millions of dollars to come to another country without any family support, and play a very complicated game against people who have ALL played this sport in an organized team manner for years. And when I got here, things went in no way as this teenager expected. No respect and in his way of thinking, mixed messages and no chance to succeed. Maybe you or the other posters could have handled all this at that age, but I don't think I could have. I think that going to business college and graduating and going into the Corps was about all that I could handle, at that age, and that was for $87.80 per month. Guess I was lucky. |

| Re: DMC trade thread is now open.. May as well make it a Darko post. Not much to write about with that shlacking. Dang easist back-back I have ever seen. Lazy - Yes that would be hard to handle but thats not the issue. The issue is when is he ever going to play on this team? Whats going to open up for him beyond the 5 minutes he had? He is what 20, 21 now? So he is at the age where the typical 1st rounder would be joining the league. Execuses are running out. He seems to have lost another coach. One maybe you can justify but 2? Something must be wrong. On NY. Very young team. I do agree with what Isiah is trying to do. He is finally starting to try to build something solid rather than patching together a 30 some win team. Going to be tough trying to explain it to the NY media though. |

| Re: DMC trade thread is now open.. I think DMC is in a no-win situation; damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. He is heavily criticized for committing too many fouls and I think he is moving his feet and trying to block or interrupt the shots by good reaches and footwork, but now people criticize him for backing off. I noticed that Ben and Sheed both backed off last night to avoid fouling on layins. And while he is ridiculed for "the rim blocking his shots", no one says much about it when the all stars who play ahead of him have that happen to them, like last night. Darko is criticized for shooting from the mid range in 3 on 3s in practice but he is not missing those shots anymore. He seems to be working on his flaws. He is an extremely good, quick passer, setting up players quite often for good, clean, open shots, so he is criticized for not going after his own shot. Doesn't anyone else recognize how quickly he gets and passes the ball? And I have heard him criticized for not keeping up with a game that is too fast for him. That is simply not true. He rotates on defense and when someone does not rotate in behind him, he is criticized for leaving his man unguarded. To my way of thinking, he is playing PISTON basketball. Does no one else recognize it? |

| Re: Current Real Darko thread or only an imposter Off topic posts moved from trade thread to a new thread.
__________________ Nov 13 LW Milan Lucic had an active night. He scored his first goal in eight games since his Oct. 25 hat trick and also pounded Michael Komisarek in a third-period fight. Lucic cut his hand in a fight with Michael Komisarek. "I'll be fine," he said. "(X-rays are) negative, but there's so many broken bones in there from before you can't really tell." |

But what's really suprised me is after a good game, the Darko bashers have been even more vocal about Darko stinking, but I've think I've figured it out. The Darko bashers have been on the wrong side of most arguments of the past few years, they thought Okur sucked, they though Ham was good, they thought the Pistons would be worse off without Larry, and they thought Delfino sucked. The only 2 things they looked right on were Darko being a bust, and Jmax being good. Well, after last night, Darko looks good, and Jmax looks like he'll never be able to guard the 4 or 5 spot. And even worse, if Darko keeps playing well, Joe might even keep him. ![]() |

Darko looked like a slow developing 22nd picked rookie in the NY game, NOT a #2 picked 3rd year veteran. At least that's what he looked like to those who KNOW what they're lookin at. But what the hell...hope springs eternal eh?![]() |

| Re: Current Real Darko thread or only an imposter What is most frustrating to me about DMC is that I own an embossed rookie card of his that I paid $1.50 for and I don't think that I will ever have a profit in it. LOL Seriously, the guy has talent. I think most everyone agrees with that assessment. He is also tall and pretty big. So the question is why is a tall and big guy with talent not playing? You can't use the excuse that it is because of the guys ahead of him, because Darko was getting minutes at the beginning of year and there have also been enough blowouts to where DMC could have gotten 5 - 10 minutes in each one of those and he hasn't even played in some of them or at least not more than 1 or 2 minutes. This leads me to believe as I have said before that he is missing something upstairs in his motivation and its not because he is in a foreign country and that to me is very frustrating. He has size, talent and his making a lot of money so he should be able to do what ever it takes to get some playing time and do a good job on the floor like he has the ability to do. |

| Re: Current Real Darko thread or only an imposter The only problem with that theory is Darko is still here! If Darko really had any other mental issues besides being 20 years old, Joe Dumars would have discovered it immediately and traded Darko's mentally challenged butt. Besides, if you go by Dumars own words- "Darko is still working hard and learning, but unfortunately for him, he's behind three great players and that doesn't leave a lot of time and opportunities for him at this point." http://www.nba.com/pistons/news/dumars_qa_051223.html |
