Not really enough to go by. The only real event this year was an argument between Tay and Kuester in the heat of a game. That isn't a sign of softness by the coach in itself. On most teams in most sports, things like this happen throughout the season.

Since then, Tay has been playing hard and was involved in a game that we actually won (against the worst team in the league).

Q has had total control over the lineups that he has started with no public leaks of unhappiness by the team members.

This all could be true, but I think that the losing is what is getting to the vets, not the coach. When things are going bad, guys get frustrated and they question everything, including the decisions by the coach.

Also, notice the lack of technical fouls by the team this year. We have all been asking for a team that didn't whine after every bad call and now we have it.

Until Tay and Rip are gone, we're going to continue to hear this crap.

We know that Ben respects him.
That's good enough for me.

Bingo.

But Joe D seems to side with the players for some reason.

Because he routinely undervalues coaching. He's always overvalued his players thinking they are always much better, on their own, than they are.

Hence, bringing in sub par coaches to coach his awesome players because they clearly don't need much guidance. Now, I will say that Kuester has been better than Curry. However, our talent level has taken a serious nose dive. There's not much of a team, talent wise, for Kuester to lose.

Average talent last year...horrible coach.

Bad talent this year...average coach.

Bad results either way.

Ben may be a little biased since he got the started job awarded to him by Q early on.

But on the other hand, some coaches may not have noticed Ben's value in those preseason practices and may have tried bringing him off the bench this year.

If we still had Curry coaching, what would our record be right now? 0-fer?

Re: Has Kuester Lost the Team?

We've had the team healthy together for ZERO games this season. Jerebko and Daye were suspended game 1, and in every game since then at least one, and usually two and three key players were out or shouldn't have been playing because they were relatively crippled (CV's plantar faciitus, Gordon's and Bynum's legs), or were and are just coming back from injuries and aren't themselves.

It's just impossible to evaluate this team when that's been the case. Let's have this discussion once the team plays together and fully healthy for at least a month - if that even happens this season.

Excellent points. These guys were dominating the NBA not that long ago. It's harder to be losing following such great years. This story just seems like somebody felt like they had to write a story about the Pistons and couldn't come up with anything else.

Don't forget, Q was there when these vets won their championship.
