Imagine

If we had all our 2004 players back on the Pistons. Do you think they'd still be in a hole, or more successful? Do you think with that team, could they make play-offs again?

Funny to think about.

I think having Chauncey back would do our team miracles. And Rasheed would help us out a lot.

Tayshaun and Rip are still continually losing their touch...
And Chucky Atkins is definitely not improving anymore.

What about Okur? He's improved since 2004, but he also has gone downhill since last season..

Hmm..Just a thought..

Re: Imagine

The only guys form the 2004 team that I would want to see in a Pistons uniform right now are Chauncey and Big Ben with LB coaching them. Yes I know we don't get Gordon and CV if no CB for AI trade is done, but just wanted to mix guys from current roster with guys from '04 at their current point in their career.

Billups
Gordon
Jerebko
Villanueva
Wallace

That starting 5 coached by Larry Brown could win you some ball games.

Re: Imagine

I really like that idea.
Those are my favorite current and former players.
Except Ben, but we need his defense.

Re: Imagine

Let's just say...Ben Wallace and I never really saw eye-to-eye...
Especially after I called him a douchebag to his face...
Whoops!

And yeah, he's not hot. The only thing hot about him are his arms.

Re: Imagine

It's an interesting idea.

What if we could get LB on board to coach and the team had to be made up of players that were at one point on the roster during the championship season?

You have 10 players that are still active in the NBA.

So you have the same starters and then Okur, Mike James, Darko, Lindsey and Chuckie on the bench.

Don't forget about Horace Jenkins. Alive and well and playing for one of those Bologna teams over in Europe.

Re: Imagine

Chauncey Billups no thanks.

Remember, CB suffers from the same playoff disease in Denver that he had in Detroit after the first championship.

He plays good the first two games of the playoffs, then he disappears in stretches "Mr. No Big Shots".

The only player I would keep is probably Ben W. Not because of his muscles but he seems to be aging backwards.

If we had kept the current players, we probably make the playoffs and ide in the first round.
