Discuss: Felton's agent says he'll contact the Pistons at Pistons Forum

He could help Detroit.. that's not a clue. He is not great, but yet he is a solid, and more ...

He is not great, but yet he is a solid, and more important, a TRUE PG.

Re: Felton's agent says he'll contact the Pistons

The most important factor is we finally found a player who wants to come to Detroit and we didn't have to throw him a carrot like Joe did to CV and BG agents to get them to call.

Obviously he knows what our needs are, and LB probably told him he could find cheap housing.....

If this is all we do I will be pretty friggen disappointed.

Maybe it's the tip of the ice berg of sweeping roster changes - Like most of thought would happen last summer.

We will see.

Man alive! Those extra 0.8apg over our current starting SG (errr... PG). A regular Steven J Nash!

IMO, if we're going to go after Felton, both Bynum and Rip have to be gone.

Everyone seems to be fixated on getting bigs (which we DO need) but this team also has a glaring need for a facilitator and a 3-point shooter.

Can Felton hit treys?

Re: Felton's agent says he'll contact the Pistons

I think he is a better 3P shooter than Will and Stuck, but I am not sure Felton is a very good 3P shooter.

I would be pretty excited to get this guy, but I am not sure it will happen.

I also don't see the point in re-signing Will B unless we're moving one of our guards, because a 4 guard rotation of Hamilton, Gordon, Stuckey and Felton is already going to be real short minutes, and with Tay, JJ, Daye and possibly Summers, we're loaded for bear at the 3, so we can't pretend we're going to play Rip up there 10 minutes a game.

If we were to get Felton, then I think there is no choice but to trade Rip (ok my preference of the three Rip, Gordon, or Stuckey) with us playing Felton and Stuckey starting and Gordon getting starting mins off the bench. White getting enough mins to get better... and we would need one solid 5th that would be ok sitting in a suit unless we have an injury.

Bynum I just don't see working into our rotation unless you bite the bullet and make him the starter, and that would mean no felton and we still need to get rid of one of the 3 other guards.

Wouldn't Pistons be kind of smallish in the back court with Felton and BG?

I think the idea is a Felton/Stuck backcourt with Bengo getting heavy minutes off the bench.

But it's something I don't get, if the agent was the one that contacted Joe, not the other way around, does that mean JD may not even want the guy?

Re: Felton's agent says he'll contact the Pistons

I don't see the Pistons spending FA money on any backcourt player. The focus needs to be, and I'd think is, on getting bigs.

If we do this intelligently, we'll have salary cap flexibility over the next couple of years - I think.
