Post All Star Break Agendas

Joe mentioned that after the all star break, we would begin to get ready for the playoff run. Specifically he said they'll start playing Davis and Hunter more.

I want to add to that that Delfino has GOT to get more minutes. Mo will do what he does and that really ain't bad but in Delfino, you got a guy who has the potential to be a difference maker. Can he be trusted in the playoffs? Not right now. But he's improving in strides and honestly, when things go south for us or we need that extra oomf off the bench, you want someone better than Mo.

Will the starters get more rest? This will be an issue the rest of the way.

I doubt that Dumars will be able to swing a back-up PG. The only ones worthy enough seem to be valued by their teams. So how will flip bring along Hunter AND acker? You can't dismiss the 3rd PG because what if your backup goes down. Dumars said that if Billups goes down so will the Pistons but what about Hunter? Even if Acker doesn't have to deal with playmaking or major minutes, you at least want him to have some NBA experience.

There's more but i'll leave it for now.

I agree. Develop, develop, develop...and then develop some more. The Pistons have built up a nice lead. Just win enough to slide by and get the best record and keep home court in the East. I'd rather develop the bench then spend too much energy beating out the Western teams. We might not have to play the team with the best record anyhow.

Delfino CAN make the difference. Let's see what Acker can do. Why not? And get Maxiel in there a little bit too.

Thing is...what does Flip think about this?

if you listened to joe's audio interview, he's stated that several teams have already called offering PGs. backup point guards are not difficult to find.

i'd be down with lue or claxton, both are better shooters than arroyo; lue already is friends with chauncey, and claxton can get in the lane whenever he wants.

Agendas

1. Health
2. Expand the playbook
3. Work Davis and Hunter into playoff shape
4. Health
5. Sell more bobble heads
6. Homecourt
7. Health
8. Resist the urge to bring in a backup point
9. Dice 20MPG+
10. Play the bejeezus out of Delfino to see if he can steal Tay's job

The "Win Now" club will hold it's annual meeting just after the deadline. Might be rough for those clowns wearing Orl jerseys under their shirts.

I'm comfortable with our top 10. Especially if Delfino continues to emerge. If Cato is broke down and EC ain't interested, then DD better get ready. Be good to get a couple of rooks in unis.

Re: Post All Star Break Agendas

1.) Get a backup PG!!!
2.) Play Delfino more!!!
3.) Play Mc Dyesss about 4-5 minutes more
4.) work out some units that actually can play together
5.) Improve defense against quick, penetrating players, which will become extremely important against Miami (Wade) and the Spurs (Parker and Ginobili)
6.) Improve defensive rebounding
7.) get Tay involved into the O more
8.) stay healthy
9.) get the starters as much rest as possible
10.) rotate, make some experiments

I don't know if we can make the deal for a backup PG but claxton and knight are good choices. Lue? I'd like to leave him near the end of the list.

i'm telling you tht rip should gaurd these quick guys instead of tayshaun. tayshaun is a bertter defender, but rip is much quicker and he defends the penetrators ike ginobili and wade much better. tay should gaurd the best shooters on the opponents team.

i've got to agree. lue's been injured and i know that we could get a guy who can get in the paint with claxton, and a true point gaurd in brevin, but i'm not sure what the the pistons would get out of tyronn lue.
