Lindsey Hunter - Can't They Trade Him?

If there was a way that he could only play defense and not have to be on the court when the Pistons have the ball he would be a plus. Unfortunately except in the last minute or so of games it doesn't work that way.

I think that playing Hunter instead of Arroyo will cost the Pistons the #1 seed in the playoffs. A bad move to trade Arroyo. By the way he had another nice game tonight for the Magic. I believe that makes 2 out 3 very nice games for him with the Magic.

the way i saw him play yesterday with the flu. i'd keep hiom he had good assists and he had his great D. his shot will come after practice gain, and when he gets fully healed. arroyo was taken to the hoop sao many times it's not even funny. who knows where to find the stat of points in the paint because remember how teams always keep killing us in that stat i think ever since arroyo's been traded the opponents have had less points in the paint and that stat is actually close.

He hasn't been able to shoot his whole career including his first trip in Detroit. What makes you think as a 35 year old has been he will able to shoot now?

P.S. I will admit that he does have an occassional hot streak of 3s but shooting 35% which he shot last year not having shot over 38% the last five years just doesn't cut it.

Yea he hustles and yes and he can play some defense but just like Sam Cassell the fact is that at 35 years old a player is too old to play point guard in the NBA in keep up with the youngersters like S. Livingston of the Clips etc. Yes there have been a few exceptions like Stockton who lasted until he was 40 but if you go back and revisit his games you will see that after 34 his physical skills just gave way to old age.

Point guards or guards of any kind just don't have the physical skills anymore at 35 or better to keep up with the youngsters. Hunter should retire.

i don't mean he'll become an amazing shooter. he shot only 1-7 yesterday, and that might of been the one bad thing he did last night. i'm just saying he'll improve on that.

So you're happy if he gets his shooting percentage up to .300? Lindsey is the worst shooting guard in the league, hands down. His shooting wouldn't be that big of a problem if he realized that he cant shoot, and stopped shooting, but he took 7 shots last night.

Lindsey, stop shooting, you've been in a slump for 6 years, it's not about to end anytime soon.

i don't mind hunter taking open shots. better than arroyo whose shot selection was atrocious (along with his shooting percentage). you'll rarely see hunter take a bad shot.

hunter plays better D than arroyo, is quicker, has much better shot selection, and can run our offense just fine. once he came back there was really no reason for arroyo to stay.

exactly. i saw iindsey make some fine pases as well. if chauncey were to foul out in a big game i'd take hunter over arroyo almost anytime.

Re: Lindsey Hunter - Can't They Trade Him?

For what Lindsey costs, the chemistry he brings, the fact he's Joe's secret agent in the locker room etc...

Why trade him?

Then of course, there is the fact that as soon as LH gets back, Dice starts going off. Coincidence? Heck no. Dice isn't a P&R player. He needs to be fed in the post, back to the basket for his turnaround jumpers. Hunter while limited, manages to make more "simple" plays than our last backup point.

And that's going to raise Dice's game tremendously.

Re: Lindsey Hunter - Can't They Trade Him?

Sorry Buddha. I just can't buy into the idea that losing a backup point who played 12 MPG and avg 3 PPG and 3 APG is going to impact the team much at all.

Its going to hurt if Billups ever goes down but thats the risk.

Besides Hunter is a better long range shooter than Arroyo and he played Wade great last post-season. Thats the main risk in the East getting past Miami. Then Hunter can harras Parker in the Finals.
