What is Tayshaun's going rate?

The Detroit News is reporting that the Pistons are giving Tayshaun Prince a 5 year $45-50 million dollar contract extension.

Is Prince worth up to $10mill per year?

I think a 5-year $40M deal would be about right. If the proposed deal goes thru, what will Ben get next year?

I agree, but if he demands the max, which he wont, I think we would give it to him.

Right. We need to sign Ben too. We need to save money for him.

My opinion

I suppose I don't mind, if that's what Tay asked for, but I would have liked to have seen somewhere between 30-40 million, just to put the other money to Ben

Prince is more of a priority than Ben. Getting Prince locked up for the long term is more important for the future of the team- than over paying for the 32 year old Ben Wallace. If you are worried about the size of anyone's contract worry about Rasheed.

That sounds about right, he is young and the Pistons want to keep him around. Seems like every year he gets better and adds something to his game.

are there any player who earn this amount of money? To me, signing Tayshaun is important, for sure- while we have to start figuring out what to do with Big Ben. Last year, he seemed a little bet worse than in the years before and it'll be interesting to see how he fares this season. If his stats and defensive appearance both decrease, we have to look out if he's what we're going to need in the future.

Bring back the Prince

I expect him to average in the high teens before too long and he is already one of the best wing defenders in the game. $45-50m over 5 years has a starting salary of around $8m which sounds about right for Tay. I think he'd get more than that if he hit the open market, but not too much more.

Ya sounds about right he is young and is on the incline. As far as Ben ya we need to see where he is this year but look at it Sheed being here has helped the team because Ben doesn't have to be the main defender/rebounder.

Stat wise maybe a decline but Ben is the heart of this team, you can't overlook that he has some good years left in him.
