This is what we asked for

Don't tell me you didn't think this. Earlier in the season, and during summer we all respected what larry brown did for us, but it was a time for change. we wanted a coach who would let this team make their decisions since they are a great veteran team, that's how we ended up with flip. Now what it comes down too is if we believe this team can give the effort to play it's best. We know what this team can do we saw how they took another team exactly like them and blow them out on their own home floor. Now as fans do we still think this team will make the right decisions going down the strectch run?

Re: This is what we asked for

We got a bunch of serious veteran players, best record in the league. Guys who clearly know how to play in your face nobody scores on my floor defense. And to your point, with some newfound freedom, guys who can put some points on the board with the best. Maybe Foghorn isn't the best in game tactician, but nobody is hurt so for me from here on out it all comes down to heart.

I think the fire is still burning.

Re: This is what we asked for

The biggest knock against flip was that he wasn't LB. As the season wore on, those criticisms and reservations died down. With the playoffs around the corner...it seems like flips system's biggest shortcoming is that it isn't LB's system.

I just REALLLY wish we could be hyping up defensive intensity. I wish flip would do that too.

I'm still happy with Flip for the most part. He's been better than I thought he would be. Hopefully, his lack of gamesmanship is either sandbagging or something that can be covered up.

Re: This is what we asked for

NY has not been playing great D so far. Did the Sixers? I think they were above average.

Its amusing reading the posts over the past few weeks. This is mainly at DET - the general concensious is that we have no chance against Miami and may not even make it out of the 1st round.

I think we are getting back to the Finals. Once the team is there its anyones series. Thats just how I feel. SAN is too good of a team to assume you are just going to steam roll them with home court.

Himat, I really don't know what you're asking. Are you saying we lost D intensity? Or is the O playoff quality? Can Flip sideline coach, i.e. game time adapt?
...And it wasn't time for a change. LB was doing good as far as team intregrity. It was his job horing and health that forced the termination.

What i'm saying is that some fans were sick of brown for forcing our team on offense. things were not going well with lb and the pistons that summer, and a lot of us wanted a coach who would give the pistons "freedom". Now that we've seen a slump out of this team what I'm asking is if you still think this team will make the right decisions when it counts.

Re: This is what we asked for

The team will make the right decisions. They still know how to play the right way. They enjoy the freedom of being able to run the team themselves instead of always having LB send in the play each time down. With Flip's system, you have Chauncey being the quarterback of the team. Flip allows him to make the right choice when given several options.

Come playoff time, things will change. The defense will still be there. The new thing, though, will be there will be less lulls in the offense.

Sheed and company want to bring the championship back home. That hunger is still there. If not, I'm sure people like Delk and McDyss will vocalize their want of a championship.
