Re: Home Court Advantage The way I read them it sounded suspiciously like Flip was spinning excuses in case they fall out of first. He might honestly hold that opinion, but it contradicts what the Pistons players have said all season long, and I don't believe a word Flip says unless there's independent confirmation. And there is no way that not having HCA is beneficial. HCA really means nothing more than that a Game 7 will be played at your building, and I'll take Game 7 against the Spurs at the Palace over Whatever-phone-company-owns-it-now Center in Texas any day.

Re: Home Court Advantage that angers me because whatever round it is you want HCA for Game 7. That's why the pistons have fought so hard this regular season. Sure the format might take a little away from the advantage, but it won't take away the advantage of having the 7th game on your floor.

| Re: Home Court Advantage Wrap your head around this. If HCA is not important in the Finals (Game 6 AND 7, which IMHO is HUGE), then the Pistons must be very confident they can beat whoever they would face in 5 games. Isn't that just a little arrogant? Sometimes I wonder if Flip believes the things he says. Because he really doesn't have the playoff experience to speak authoritatively on a 7 game championship series. If you go back to the interview in the John Thompson thread http://www.pistonsforum.com/detroit-...w-pistons.html The starters make it very clear that they are playing for HCA. That they feel that HCA was the difference between winning and losing last season.

Re: Home Court Advantage keep in mind dallas and the spurs didn't play that well to end last season. we have some tougher games coming up, but most of our games are at home, while dallas has plenty more road games than home games. and a point brought up during the last game - the pistons have played the fewest home games out of any team in the league. so i think we're fine and will snag HCA...crossin my fingers anyway!

Re: Home Court Advantage Good thing the Pistons won both SAN games. You get both games 6 and 7 at home. On the flip side if you are the home team and lose one of the 1st 2 then its an uphill battle from there. 04 was the 1st Finals win for LB so perhaps Flip will have the same luck in his 1st Finals. This year no matter what happends its going to be the toughest competition to date and the most evenly matched finals since the Bulls/Sonics squared off in 96.

Re: Home Court Advantage With as much doubt as I harbor about Flip & playoffs I think we need all the advantage we can get, specially HOME COURT. You think there is anyway to also recieve a 10 point spot.
