Shame on you for exploiting our soft spots.

I feel you about watching a team grow. The Stones have reached a level where many reg season games lack the excitement quotient they used to.

Lemonpen, do you ever wonder if the reason for the forum members get in so many arguments about various things, is the need to drum up excitement because the Pistons are clearly so superior to most of the teams that there is not enough suspense during the regular season?

Another good thing about kind of rooting for more than one team: I root for the Cinti Reds the Buckeyes and the University of Dayton in BBall and FBall; The Pistons and Magic and maybe the Jazz, is that even when one of my teams loses, the loss is partially offset by another team winning.

When we wintered in Arizona for 12 years, I went to see the Pistons when they were in town to play the Suns. I told myself that I would not be TOO disappointed if the Suns beat the Pistons, but I certainly would have. Also, it gives us the chance to rib the locals. When I lived in Ohio for most of my life until 1966, I rooted for MSU, and when we moved to Michigan in '66, I rooted for OSU and the U of D. In both instances, it was to get more interesting conversations going. It is more fun to yak when there are different views in the fray, not just everybody agreeing.

That's my thought, anyway.
