The problem is that the Pistons are going to say, wow, these guys are actually good. Lets keep them. Then they get their playing time reduced and get back to the pine.

Do you think Flip will think outside of the box during the game like that? I think both those guys are here to stay.

Amir is Tay's backup. Amir plays 24 minutes a game. Tay plays 24 minutes at small forward and 6 minutes at shooting guard.

Rip plays 30 minutes. With Tay playing 6 minutes at shooting guard, it leaves just 12 minutes for Afflalo or Mejia to play at shooting guard.

Billups plays 30 minutes. Stuckey plays the other 18 minutes of point.
WHOA!!!! Lee I actually get this one

Re: Rotations

I see it turning out more like this:

PG: Chauncey 28 mpg, Stuckey 12 mpg, Tayshaun 8 mpg

SG: Rip 27 mpg, Stuckey 8 mpg, Afflalo 8 mpg, Mejia 3 mpg, Tayshaun 2 mpg

SF: Tayshaun 20 mpg, Amir 12 mpg, J Max 8 mpg, Afflalo 2 mpg, Mejia 1 mpg, Rip 5 mpg

PF: Sheed 20 mpg, Dice 10 mpg, J Max 15 mpg, Amir 8 mpg

C: Nazr 18 mpg, Sheed 10 mpg, Dice 8 mpg, Samb 8 mpg, Dale 4 mpg

Totals:

Rip: 32 mpg
Tayshaun: 30 mpg
Sheed: 30 mpg
Chauncey: 28 mpg
J Max: 23 mpg
Amir: 20 mpg
Stuckey: 20 mpg

Re: Rotations

Guys look at the MPG on championship squads. Starting star players have a VERY difficult time being effective playing only 30mpg, and bench players also struggle in minimal mpg. Guys like Rip and Tay need to play around 35mpg to be effective.

I am talking about early in the year. As the year goes on the better players will get more minutes. Come playoff time the starters will be averaging 35-40 mpg.

Championships are won in the playoffs. When the playoffs come than guys like Rip and Tay will play 35 mpg. During the regular season what is the need for that against poor teams like the Hawks?

Basketball is a game of rhythm, mess with a players mins, and you mess with their rhythm, which effs up their game.

I just did.....my day shall be wonderful from this point forward; and you're right. BUT!! also look at the MPG by the Pistons during the Bad Boys era. Chuancy's mins could stand to drop but I still feel as if Tay and Rip need about 35mpg.

Tay's on the US squad. Look at what he looked liked against Cavs with the minutes he played. He's going to wear out even quicker. He needs his minutes cut. Rip's minutes would have to go into development of the youngsters. He's in such shape that he could easily play 40 minutes throughout and still be in a top notch other than all the extra bruises from the contact.
