If he is not ready to play, then there is a way to make him ready. Play him. A lot of practice, combined with an occasional stint in actual NBA games to see where you need more work can do wonders.

Re: Rotations

I'm going to predict Samb and Meija will spend the entire season in the NBDL. This will be much better for their development than riding the pine in street clothes.

Sounds like D Squared. We all know how that worked out.

How cool would it be to have a front line of Dale Davis, Jeff Foster and Jason Maxiell?

I had not followed the summer leagues as much as some here have, Samb did not do very well - did he? I read where it was a choice between leaving him oversees or taking him into the D-league where he can be supervised more closely.

Also seems like Hayes has kind of sealed Meja's fate for next season.

I would love to add another big like Foster, does not look like it is going to happen.

Re: Rotations

After watching these Tourny of Americas games i'd like to see some two point combos... Chauncey + Stuck or Flip + Stuck. With Jarvis Hayes backing up Tay we'll need to bring in a backup guard who can also handle the ball to reduce the pressure on Stuck (Jarvis isn't a very dependable ball handler). Watching Deron Williams and Chauncey play together, we can do it, plus Chauncey will have experience with a similar setup... As long as Flip is on the roster might as well use him.

I'm sure we'll see some Chauncey + Stuck play. Not sure about the Flip + Stuck. It should be good for both guys.

Adding Hayes sealed Murray's fate. As for how Samb did, well, based on his summer league play, we signed him. And he still has camp to improve further and fight for a spot on the active roster.

Why?

Hayes is a SF/G and Murray is a PG/G.

Like I wrote before, I don't love Murrays game or anything but he really did not do that bad last year. He had more of a impact than Damon Jones did back in 01-02.

I see Samb and Mejia playing a similar role to what Amir did last season. This is the start of a developing farmer system for Detroit. Pickup prospects in the 2nd round, develop overseas, develop in the D-League, enter the rotation, and so on...
