Is your plan to waive Dupree? You can't have 16 signed players, of course.

Re: Rotations

Flip Murray is doing fine at PG as a stand-in.

No doubt. Murray will make a mistake here and there, but overall, he is doing the job. Mejia cannot offer anything close to what Flip brings to the table. Like you said, Murray is a "stand-in", not a long-term solution.

I don't care if rotation is based on Lions roster. Mejia is not signed, and for some reason Joe decided to go with Super Dupe. It is quite possible that Joe didn't think Sam would get any playing time and he'd be better off playing in the NBDL this season and then if he develops, Pistons lose Dupree and Hayes and sign Mejia.

But where am I wrong in saying that Mejia is not signed???

We could start here.

Quote:
Detroit Lions tight end Marcus Pollard made a four-year detour before beginning a steady career and emerging as a dynamic and productive player in the NFL.

Pollard grew up in Alabama with a dream of playing in the NBA. Though he was a successful football player throughout his high school years, he wanted make a living on the court – not on the field.

“It was just more fun for me playing basketball,” said Pollard. “I always had dreams of playing in the NBA. But I thought I would grow more, and I didn’t.”

At 6’ 3”, Pollard wasn’t exceptionally tall, but he did end up playing basketball as a power forward throughout college – two years starting at Seward County Community College in Liberal, Kansas before transferring to Bradley where he also started for two years.

After four years of college basketball, he graduated from Bradley in 1994 with a degree in criminal justice. Though a career in the NBA wasn’t in the cards for Pollard, this exceptional athlete wasn’t through making his mark on the sporting world.

Re: Rotations

Whats the status with Meija anyway? Still a little unsure of how it works with the NBDL. I think NBDL's players have contracts and do or don't count against the 15 player roster?

Meija is not in the D-league right now I believe?

Mejia is currently on the roster of the NBDL Fort Wayne Mad Ants, but is no longer under contract with the Pistons. Detroit waived Mejia a couple of weeks ago.

How much longer are we going to have to put up with this Nazr charade? Last year he was our starting center at the beginning of the year and by the end of the year he was sitting on the end of the bench.

This year he starts out as our big off of the bench. He still is but now he is only playing a few token minutes and then comes out. I venture to say that by the end of this year Nzar will have earned his seat at the end of the bench again.

What about next year?

We learned we can't start him
We learned he doesn't cut it coming off the bench.

3 more years on his contract after this one. I doubt that anyone will want him in a trade unless it is a low level second round pick.

Most likely we will buy him out or sit him on the end of the bench just in case.

Great job if you can get it. $30 million for 5 years of butt rot. One think is for sure. He can afford to buy the lotion he will need because of the butt rot.
