  1. Chauncey - He's...Chuancey
  2. Rip - Obvious
  3. Tay - Obvious
  4. Sheed - Obvious
  5. Dyess - Can defend the post well, can really get on a roll and puts some points on the board, if he ever gets a chance to touch the dang ball in an offensive set.
  6. Maxiel - Beast, can even score in the post if he ever gets a chance to touch the dang ball.
  7. Flip Jr. - Really the only player playing right now who really penetrates, gets into the paint & breaks down the defense, he also will push the break better than Billups. In all reality if you watch his game objectively there are alot of things he does a whole lot better than Billups that can help this team.
  8. Hayes - When put in the right scenario, and his teammates actually look to get him the dang ball can rally light it up some nights.
  9. Nazr - I know he has his limitations, but he really runs the floor and establishes deep-early post position in the paint, and gets a ton of offensive rebounds.
  10. AJ - Still looks LOST!!! Deer in the headlights, that said he can still run the floor well, rebound and play above the rim, block shots and has shown an above avg passing ability in the early season.
  11. AA - Our toughest player on the team. Really gets after it defensively. Can hit the open shot. Moves well without the ball. Runs the floor well. Advances the ball on the break well, while that may not sound like much- Rip/CB over dribble on the break and cost us alot of transition buckets. Has a knack for making the right basketball play. He is every bit of what Joe campaigned on draft night. Should be starting.
  12. Stuckey - Jury is still out, but if he can do what he was doing that last pre-season game then he is the truth. The development of him and AA could make Rip and/or CB trade bait in a year or two.
  13. Samb - As someone pointed out, he is more NBA ready than anybody expected. Pure shot blocker, really long and has a very nice shooting touch, he's only going to get better. 3 years from now we won't believe that all we gave up for Samb was Mo Evans.
  14. Hunter - a vet who every now and then can pick a pocket and spark a team. Although I prefer to see Lindsey in street clothes, but he can stll move his feet on D.
All that to say this, it's time this team gets away from that 5 best starters in the NBA BS and adopt a mentality that we are the deepest and most talented team in the league with a roster full of capable vets and hungry young'ns, who can help us win on any given night.
I agree with some of this, and disagree with some. What I choose to disagree the most with is Amir. Not only does he not look lost, he continually is doing stuff that helps the team. He is not getting continuously positive numbers for nothing. On offense, he is a constant threat to get the ball inside and dunk it, and this starts within seconds of the start of our possesion. On D, he gets back very quickly, and then uses all those quicks to get to anyone who is open.

Exactly my point. He didn't have the balls to make a controversial move like taking one of the "Big 5" out of the starting lineup. If he did, Ben wouldn't have started a single game under him.

Re: Rotations

I actually think we did well without Hamilton in terms of the starting unit. It seems like we have too many scoring options and people get passive like Tayshaun... I think Hamilton's instant offense and could see him coming off the bench like Ginobili and still playing a lot of minutes, but just stagger our starters... It seems like our bench has to be a bunch of youngsters or something and sometimes they look lost. With Rip playing with the second unit he can take over and the team will run well. I'd start Aflalo instead to play D and be an unselfish starter, and then the team would play with more balance. Why is it our guys are the only "All Stars" who would have a problem coming off the bench like that? Ginobili's every bit as good as Hamilton, and has no issue with this even though Argentina's been very competitive with the US in international competition and he's like this international basketball superstar... I think it would be worth a try.

For us to have a chance at that title this season, this has to happen. Again when Tay and Sheed are aggressive we are unbeatable, but as long as Rip and Chauncey (Mobley & Francis) are out there together, too many others players games get sacrificed. Rip to the Bench Please.

Rip is being used as a scapegoat.

The problem is Maxiell.

This is exactly the opposite of your point. You said, Saunders would "take a terrible defender/very good scorer, over a great defender/good scorer any day of the week."

Only because they failed to unload Murray and Mohammed. Still quite correctable.

Huh?? How is Maxey the problem. Personally I am not trying to say that "Rip is a problem". The problem is that we have our best 5 players (in the coaches eyes) start. When the starters are not playing well, there is this perception from the coach that says, "If these guys can't get it done, then we can't win." When a team struggles a coach should look to the bench and be able to put people in to help the team win, like the alternatorz w/ Corliss & Barry. Our bench is perceived as a group of players you put in to not lose the game while you rest your starters.
