Bhudda, I got one problem with what you are saying. So far, Amir has indeed played in the rotation quite a bit this year. And its all been a pretty darn positive experience. Remember, I watch each game multiple times. And I have watched much of the season just this past week since I got the week off for Christmas. Its fresh in my mind pretty much every minute Amir has played. There is no hint whatsoever that Amir is not ready to contribute.

Fair enough. I can't dispute what you have seen.

Re: Rotations

For the most part, Amir seems to make positive contributions when he is on the floor. I would like to see him get a couple of McDyess' minutes.

I have seen a couple of players post up and over-power Amir on the blocks this season. It hasn't happened a lot, but a good coach might try to exploit that aspect when Amir is in the game.

Re: Rotations

I was thinking and it became very apparent in the 1st quarter of the Boston game that Maxiel should be starting. He would bring an inside presense right away into the game and could help get the opponents into foul trouble making things easier for the rest of the half.

Love McDyess and all but he can be so one dimensional. Start Maxiel and give him the 30 MPG while Dyess goes back to around 24 MPG. Keep Sheed at around 30-32 and try to get Amir in there for 5-10 MPG.

Agreed. At least try it on the Texas two stop this week and see how it plays out. Certainly won't hurt Dyess feelings. If he can come off the bench and shoot those line drive jumpers against the other teams bench it help prevents any second quarter droughts...

Re: Rotations

It does not seem right to use a guy like Meija who is not on the team anymore.

I am open to moving Amir ahead of Dyess if he playes better. Especially after watching Dyess miss all those jump shots. He did get a lot of boards but Amir is also a good rebounder.

Off the team for me would be Herman and cut would be Murray. Then we could bring Samb up later in the year for the playoffs. Right now Samb is getting good practice in the D-league.

Starters: Usual with Maxiel
2nd Unit: Stucky, Dyess, Hayes, Afflalo, Amir
reverves: Primo, Herman ( for now but cut or bench him later and bring Samb in.)

That makes our starting unit to weak on the boards and puts Dyess and AJ on the second unit so some of AJ rebounding strength will be negated by playing alongside Dyess.

Start AJ and put Dyess on the 2nd unit with Maxey.

Thanks for infusing some sanity and perspective into this thread.

Even though not signed, Mejia is playing for our D-Leauge affiliate. We can call him up just like anyone else can. And of course, we can tell the coaches down there what homework to give Mejia. Remember this, you like Afflalo for his defense, right? Mejia is better. And Mejia has the size to play small forward. Mejia handles the ball better too. (Not that Afflalo is all that bad.) Mejia, although Afflalo can rebound too, rebounds twice as good. Afflalo has it all over Mejia in the scoring department, both long range and around the basket, but other than scoring, Mejia is much better at everything else. (And believe it or not, although not that talented, Mejia can score a bit too.)

I assure you, Samb is practicing with the team. I was down on the floor before the game, sitting not 5 feet from him some of the time as he was doing pregame drills.
