Mejia, although Afflalo can rebound too, rebounds twice as good. Afflalo has it all over Mejia in the scoring department, both long range and around the basket, but other than scoring, Mejia is much better at everything else. (And believe it or not, although not that talented, Mejia can score a bit too.)

I assure you, Samb is practicing with the team. I was down on the floor before the game, sitting not 5 feet from him some of the time as he was doing pregame drills.
my opionion of the d league has dropped as the season has gone on, Samb needs the burn down there sure... but i think he's learning more here about piston basketball. If we were the warriors with the run and gun maybe the d league is a good place to learn but there getting no concept of defense down there. Thats the problem with saying bring meij up he may be lighting it up down there but he's not getting to improve in things that he may or may not be able to do for detroit. One thing for sure he won't be brought back to detroit for his scoring.

I want to see Mejia play for us for his defense. If he scores any, that would be a bonus. Specifically, he should take Hayes' minutes. Even if Hayes lights it up some nights, I will still take a guy who can lock down the opposing small forward while Tay gets some rest.

Here is another thing. Hayes may hit some shots, but he does not help any with the ball handling. Mejia would be giving us more assists, better ball movement in general. Mejia might very well improve our offense even without him shooting the ball. My vision is having JMAX, Amir, Stuckey, and Afflalo do all the scoring while Mejia helps facilitate the scoring.

One more bonus Mejia gives us if he in the rotation. He would become the 3rd point guard, in case of serious foul trouble at that position. He handles the ball that well.

Daring move. I'm sure noone would go for it. Too obvious. Start your best players with the next best on the bench? Great Caeser's ghost!

Re: Rotations

I'm not taking a jab at Lee or Flip Saunders, but I have a strange question.

Has the size of this rotations thread surpassed the size of Flip's playbook? I know it is tough to measure because one is online and the other is imaginary, but still, I wonder which way I'd bet.

This thread will get a lot larger. In the end though, Flip's imaginary play book that never actually gets implemented will always be bigger, as Flip's excuses keep expanding on a never ending basis. He loves to use that playbook as an excuse not to play rookies. And this obsession against young players is so strong, I imagine he adds at least two chapters a day to this imaginary series of magical plays that will never see the light of day.

Aren't 2 rookies and 1 second-year guy playing in the regular rotation every day?

If you are referring to Maxey, he is a third-year guy.

Still, it is quite impressive. Not many teams can boast the same.
