It's a strange situation.

26-9 is a good situation.....for the owner. The regular fan is right there on the edge of their seats. Profits are up and local interest continues to be strong. The Sheed factor is at its most positive since LB......what could be better if you're the owner.........

I wish we knew what he's thinking. But whatever it is, doesn't make a whole lot of sense, that's the bottom line.

We'd have to include Flip Jr., or it won't work salary-wise.

I am going to change this up just a bit.

Start: Billups, Rip, Tay, Sheed, Samb.

2nd unit: Stuckey, Afflalo, Mejia, JMAX, Amir.

11th and 12th guys: Hunter and Dyess.

Left undressed: Hayes, Herrmann, Brezec

Off team: Murray.

Why the change: Going with better defense. Anyone that comes in from the bench, even the 11th and 12th guys, will come in for defense primarily. Any offense they give us is just gravy.

Here, Dyess has a role. As both Amir and Samb are a bit on the thin side, Dyess can step in as needed for them. But Dyess would not be brought in against quick guys he can't keep up with.

Hunter would be limited to an occasional stint here and there to disrupt them bringing the ball up the floor. Thats better than what Hayes gives us, which is a small forward that is too slow, or a power forward that is not big enough. (Tweener, and you can put Herrmann in the same category)

First of all, Flip should be fired, rather than use the following reason not to start Prince. Its called idiot proofing. But getting rid of the "idiot" is generally more effective. Tay is one guy amongst our starters who has proven that regular starters minutes wear him the heck out. So having him come off the bench would keep him fresher for the playoffs, when we really are going to need the guy at 100% Now, finding a coach that simply understands that Tay has to have his minutes limited, whether or not he is starting, would be the best way to go.

Next reason. With Tay coming off the bench, he becomes very available both as the backup small forward, or if we want to go big, as the shooting guard. (But even here, a competent coach could simply limit Tay's minutes even more at small forward, leaving him easily able to play some shooting guard and not get tuckered out.)

Well that didnt last long...
Lee, u r not going to disrpt the core vets to pacify the younglings. Yes, we 'know' they 'should' play, but Flip has to LET GO of at least 5 games a year (like tonight) to actually do some coaching..I'll finish in Knicks thread.
