Trust me. Few are less enthused than I on the prospect of seeing Dyess trotted out there for 30+ mins as a starter.
With that said, he is our best option if your goal is to win the game at hand. In my opinion too much emphasis has been placed on what can this player do for me this game. Who is going to help me win tonight rather than thinking about where you want to be in a few months.
I am all for taking a step back to get better. I say throw Amir out there as the starting PF and see what he can do. We have to do something because our front court is not good enough to win a title as it stands.
And if anyone thinks that Kwame Brown is going to push us over the top, a guy who has underperfomed on every team he has been on, then you are drinking too much Piston kool-aid in my opinion. There is just no evidence to back that up.
So yes I say go for it. Give some major mins to Amir and some minor mins to Samb and see what happens. Going to take some patience to stick with it though and we have a rookie coach hungry for some wins so I don't know. Hopefully he is more eager to put a better contender out there come April rather than trying to pad the early season win column.
