My main fear is that Curry runs with a 3-forward rotation of Sheed, Dyess and Brown. That would negate the effect of Brown and I hope it does not happen.

I would also like to see Amir get a shot at backup SF.

One thing we can get excited about are the guards. Going to be a great rotation this year of CB, Rip, Stucky and AA. Even if Hunter stays on I can't see him being granted any favors once the post-season starts.

Yes I have accepted the fact that there probably will not be any major trades this year.
Dyess never earned his spot to begin with. Remember, it was announced, before camp even began, that Dyess would start. No fair competition. Just an announcement. To me, Dyess has never played well enough to merit being a starter. He has shown flashes of willingness to work in the paint where we need him to be, but just flashes. Nothing of it in the playoffs either. His lack of lateral movement on defense hurts us something fierce, and only his offensive rebounding keeps him even the slightest on my good side.

Re: Rotations

First, on the subject of Curry's judgement and any possible influence Curry might be having on the roster. The signing of Herrmann makes you wonder if Curry has any sense at all - if he had any influence on the signing. I hope not, but then again, is Dumars blind to how slow Herrmann is? Somebody ain't right. Either Curry or Dumars made a mistake with this signing.

Well, since we signed him, time to look at the roster.

Point Billups, Stuckey, Bynum

Shooting guard Rip, Afflalo

Small forward Tay, Sharpe

Power forward JMAX, Amir

Center Sheed, Dyess, Samb

So, the top 12 are not affected by this move.

This leaves Herrmann as a reserve.

Re: Rotations

Herrmann is probably ahead of Sharpe to start the season.

It's insulting to Sammy to limit his versatility with a position designation.......

Well, since we signed him, time to look at the roster.

Point Billups, Stuckey, Bynum, Green pepper.

Shooting guard Rip, Afflalo, Hot banana pepper.

Small forward Tay, Sharpe, Zuchinni.

Power forward JMAX, Amir, Red skinned potato.

Center Sheed, Dyess, Samb, Beefsteak tomato.

So, the top 12 are not affected by this move.

This leaves Herrmann as a reserve.
That sounds good.

Trust me. Few are less enthused than I on the prospect of seeing Dyess trotted out there for 30+ mins as a starter.

With that said, he is our best option if your goal is to win the game at hand. In my opinion too much emphasis has been placed on what can this player do for me this game. Who is going to help me win tonight rather than thinking about where you want to be in a few months.

I am all for taking a step back to get better. I say throw Amir out there as the starting PF and see what he can do. We have to do something because our front court is not good enough to win a title as it stands.

And if anyone thinks that Kwame Brown is going to push us over the top, a guy who has underperfomed on every team he has been on, then you are drinking too much Piston kool-aid in my opinion. There is just no evidence to back that up.

So yes I say go for it. Give some major mins to Amir and some minor mins to Samb and see what happens. Going to take some patience to stick with it though and we have a rookie coach hungry for some wins so I don't know. Hopefully he is more eager to put a better contender out there come April rather than trying to pad the early season win column.

Well said max.

I'd even be for a "revolving door starter" situation between AJ, Max, Samb and Giant Turd to make it a good old fashioned competition.
May the best man (or turd) win!
