Pistons' Record by Day of Week

While unsuccessfully poking around to see if I could find quarter by quarter stats to see the impact of early in the day starts, I did find this...

Detroit Pistons - record by day of week

Monday - 4-1 (0.800)
Tuesday - 10-2 (0.833)
Wednesday - 12-1 (0.923)
Thursday - 5-0 (1.000)
Friday - 15-2 (0.882)
Saturday - 6-6 (0.500)
Sunday - 6-2 (0.750)

Saturday is the trough and the winning percentage steadily climbs to Thursday and then begins to fall heading back into bleak Saturday.

Sorry Miami. Thursday is the wrong night to draw us. And thankfully no more Saturday games on the schedule.

In the East, only Chicago (9-7), Milwaukee (10-6), Orlando (6-4), Philadelphia (5-4), and Washington (8-5) have winning records on Saturday.

Anybody know anything about bio-rhythms?

Re: Pistons' Record by Day of Week

Well of those 12 Saturday games, all but 3 were the second of a back-to-back.

In the 3 non-back-to-back games, the Pistons won at home against Charlotte and lost on the road to Washington and Cleveland.

Making our record in Saturday bottom ends of a back to back, 4-5. I think fatigue may be a bigger factor than bio rhythms.

In addition, 9 of the 12 Saturday games were on the road.

Re: Pistons' Record by Day of Week

How many Saturday road games on a back to back were played during high tide?

An interesting sidenote is that moon phases also are important to team performance. When the moon is waxing, or growing in intensity the Pistons have a slightly higher winning percentage than when the moon is waning or lessening in intensity.

Go figure.

It's all starting to become clear. I just had to stand on one foot while reading.
