He frightened the Pistons
Gave the fans a scare
Now we can all go fishing

I found Bill's Haiku to be very poetic and moving.

This is a fine Haiku. In the first sentence, if Bill had opted to say "I am," it would have pushed him into six syllables, which is a no-no. Using the contraction, "I'm" is what saved this Haiku. A stroke of genius.

Here you be:

Falling with Style: A sonnet for the Pistons and their faithful on the occasion of Game Six

To beat Lebron and keep our hopes alive
we must bring fire and keep strong in our mind
we are a team and its one against five
and many’s the time it’s been we who have shined.

We fans have been waiting near on two days,
warding off taunters, defending the faith
while praying the boys will come with some plays
no matter what Stern and the media saith.

On “D” and on “O”, one play at a time
the Pistons must work and bring their best game.
(it’s starting to get pretty tough to rhyme
but I won’t give up, though these lines were lame.)

Because tonight and Sunday’s Game Seven
we’ll all be basking: Pistons Hoops Heaven!
