Re: Miami Heat Scouting Report

Miami's team is very, very old. This will hurt Miami a whole lot, especially when we get the fast break going. Shaq tires very easily. He is very dominant in the first 2 quarters, after that, he begins to lose momentum and energy.

I have to take Tay over Walker. During the ost season, I think Walker's shot has been going in more than not is because no one played defense on walker. He had carte blanche going to the three. Very seldom did anyone put a hand in his face. I think we can shut Walker down

Billups over white chocolate, no problem there.

I will call Rip & Wade even. If Rip keeps running and shooting on those little curls that he is so famous for, and Rip will run Wade to death.

Rasheed will eat Haslem alive, hope Arnie can work his magic on that ankle injury.

Our Bench vs their Bench. I will give theri bench a very, very slight edge. But the average age of their bench is what? about 50 years old. Peyton, shandon anderson, alonzo, derek anderson. If tony delk starts gunning the way he did in the latter part of the season and if Mo Evans start hitting those three pointers, I don't know Microwave. It will be interesting.

Re: Miami Heat Scouting Report

Flip says he is going to use Davis and Delfino in this series. I think that sounds like a really good idea.

As Micro pointed out previously, however, Flip says one thing about who he is going to play and then he does the opposite.

I dunno. This looks like an awfully tough series to me.

Coaching and bench play will be the deciding factors either way, I think.

Re: Miami Heat Scouting Report

Kiss of death before the series even begins for Davis and Delfino, huh?

Antoine Walker has shot 28% against the Pistons in the last two years. I have absolutely no fear of that man, and I'm not convinced that what he was able to do against the sagging and slow-to-recover defenses of undersized and/or undermanned teams like Chicago and New Jersey suggests what he'll do against Sheed or Tayshaun (please not Evans or Delfino at the 4!).

Riley vs. Flip? uggh.

If we play like we did in the Cleveland series, I think we may win...
two games at best.
We won't play like we did in the cleveland series especially offensively because: Pistons had their wakeup call and will be more productive offensively. Watch Tater I truly believe that Cleveland is better defensively than the Heat. Pistons in 5.

I don't see hoew our bench is worse than there bench. I remember our bench outperformed there bench in almsot all 4 games in the season series.

Re: Miami Heat Scouting Report

I agree with everything on your report execpt the Walker/Prince matchup. I think that Walker on his game is a force, but he's just too streaky to me. Prince was the MVP of the Cavs series, IMO and is just too versatile to draw even with Walker. I do agree though, that Walker has stepped up his game of late and we shouldn't sleep on him. He could end up being the X factor for the Heat.

I do agree that this is going to be one heck of a battle. I can't see this going less than 6, and more than likely the full 7 games.

Home court has already proven to be huge this time around, we'll have to wait and see just how much more of a factor they become.

The season is over. Looking at the way things are right now, and the lip service that Flip paid to Delfino and Davis in the Game 7 postgame conference, I'll take the Heat's bench in a second.

All 5 of the Heat's top reserves have all started at least 2 full seasons in the NBA.

Delk has never started a full year, Delfino need I say more, and Evans has little experience...

I'm not trying to be gloom and doom, I'm trying to be realistic. This will not be a cakewalk. We are probably going to lose a couple games.

We all seem to be assuming a Walker / Prince matchup. Riles might go for Walker on Sheed and Haslem on Prince. And let Shaq shade over when Sheed goes into the post.
