Chauncey has been in the news as a potential MVP candidate for the past 3 months.
Chauncey feels that he can turn his game on and off any time he choses.
Chauncey feels that the team will go no where without his leadership and playmaking abilities.
Chauncey feels that if all of a sudden the pistons start winning in dramatic fashion and if he is running the offense as in the past; then everyone will see that it is Chauncey "Big Shot Billups" who should be MVP. "can't you see that my team needs me Billups".
Chauncey is arrogant to the umph degree.
I don't believe he is hurt. |
I agree with everything, except with the last sentence.
Chauncey Billups is hurt, but not physically.
Maybe he is in a state of shock right now, maybe he finally understands, that this team has lost its special chemistry and that he is responsible. Maybe finally, since there is a HUGE difference between being down 1:2 and 1:3. He and not the coach, no matter how (in)competent he may be (I don't believe, Flip can help now). Noone else could ruin this team to such degree.
Maybe a long talk with one (1 for beginning) of his teammates could help now (Sheed comes first to my mind). I don't believe, they've forgot how to play in last few weeks (although it may be a longer story). They can still beat this Miami team three times (twice at home) and Miami knows that better than a lot of the Pistons fans. It is a matter of mind, not skills or physical ability, so it can be cured over night, but a kind of catharsis is unavoidable.
There is more than 06 c-ship on the table now.
