We already had this similar thread on Tay and Ben, but this isn't the same. Chauncey has had only 1 good playoff game this year. Chauncey I thought only struggled because of Snow (He still should have owned him), but he even sucked against Jason Williams. Chauncey has always been the pg the last couple of years to perform better than other pgs in the playoffs.

I said it in the chat, and I think chauncey peaked in 2004. Yes, he did have the best season of his career this year. But that is the regular season, a completely different animal, mostly taking advantage of weaker teams. In terms of playing ball that wins championships, he hasn't really done it since we won one. He was "okay" last year, and this year... well it speaks for itself.

He's lost just about all confidence in his shot, which makes it even worse.

Is it possible for Tay or Hunter to take over temporary PG duties and have CB act like a second shhoting guard? Just mix things up to get him back into the offensive flow.

They've been using a Lindsey/CB backcourt on occasion when Lindsey is in, but I guess it hasn't helped him get on track.

FYI mike james was on the radio today and said he was going to talk to chauncey to light a fire under his ass. that guy has a killer instinct, hopefully he can do some good. james also said he never wants to be a 6th man again so he won't be coming back to detroit, and there's a good chance he'll be back with houston next year.

oh and james also said he still thinks the pistons win in 6

That is a very good question. And its not just his shot. Too many stupid passes and his defense has slipped some.

His defense is abysmal.

He's being exposed as he was last year in the Finals.

He isn't a good decision maker when plays go awry or on the fast break. When teams key on him exclusively, he can't involve his teammates.

He put up #s this year pretty much on par for a PG in Flip's system.

Vs. Terrell Brandon (both at age 29)

Vs. Sam Cassell (2004)

Vs. Stephon Marbury (age 20)

But here is something that really ticks me off.

This season, despite his reputation as a big shot maker, CB shot worse from 2 than from 3. For the first time in his career. He basically has no off the dribble or post up game to speak of.

Did you know that CB was putting up better playoff #s last year? He had less than 2 TOs per game. This year, 2.38. Shot 45% and 35%. This year? 40% and 36%. Hell, even his APG is lower than last year (6.5 to 6.2).

I'm not telling folks anything different than what they are seeing. But Ben is the "intangibles" guy. Chauncey's game is all about big shots and production.

That's been missing for 6 games.

Nov 13 LW Milan Lucic had an active night. He scored his first goal in eight games since his Oct. 25 hat trick and also pounded Michael Komisarek in a third-period fight. Lucic cut his hand in a fight with Michael Komisarek. "I'll be fine," he said. "(X-rays are) negative, but there's so many broken bones in there from before you can't really tell."

CB appears to be in a hitting slump. He is capable of pulling out of it at any time.

Chauncey is going to come back this series and make you all look like a bunch of clucking old hens.
