Tay- Seems to be the reigning +/- leader on the team.
CB- The only Pistons to be considered for league MVP
Ben- Reigning DPOY, Captain, heart of the beast
Rip- Scoring leader for 4 years

Sheed- Gives the team attitude, 2nd best defender at the PF position for the team, stretches the D.

All that being said, we wouldn't have a chance to win the Title without Sheed. Or any of the other players either.
I think you could argue that Rasheed is a better "one-on-one" defender than Ben Wallace.

Re: Prince is a BEAST

Rasheed Wallace is far and away the Pistons' best player. The only one with a semi-valid argument is Ben Wallace, although that's more with an eye to impact than talent.

Good rebounding game from Prince.

Shame on the overraters.

Exclamation Re: Prince is a BEAST/ And Flip was sandbagging

You guys see all the games. When did Flip remove BBen from the O rot? [rotation]
Was he trying to see how powerful our O could be 4 on 5? trying to see how many opponets we could handle without O production from BBen?
BBJ wanted to sit BBen for Dyess and rightfully so. Now we see the need for BBen in the O flow. Against dangerous teams we need help from all positions. And even with BBens caveman O style, his 9 points was the diff. in the win. Let the man touch the ball.

Re: Prince is a BEAST

I really don't understand how the probably skinniest player in this league manages to post, defend and grab rebounds like him. I'll never understand how you can be that skinny and still stand your man against the likes of Anabolica- junks in this league- it's just great!

Re: Prince is a BEAST

remember when he was taking fewer shots and off his game a little earlier in the year? it was chauncey and rip and sheed hoisting shots, and he was in a funk.

then one day he figured out no one was going to be mad if he started working to 'get his' too...and the difference now is he's aggressive and confident. the fact that he actually pulls up for jumpers himself now is something he would NEVER do before. and getting so close to the basket leads to offensive rebounds and eliminates the long rebounds / fast break baskets for our opponents, PLUS they are high percentage shots that are basically unguardable.

go back and watch the video from his rookie season when he dominated the 76ers in the final minutes and won the game for us. you're starting to see that again. and it's a beautiful thing.

Re: Prince is a BEAST

I have always been a huge Tay fan. When he had that bad scoring drought during the regular season, I knew it was a matter of time before he turned that around.

Last nights game was a pleasure to watch. Tayshaun was consistantly great on both ends of the court, getting offensive rebound after rebound....scoring on second chance opportunities. I can easily see this guy being the series/finals MVP!

Re: Prince is a BEAST

Tayshuan is a man on a mission. With his long arms that hook shot is unstoppable. I remember when he first got to the league, he hurried the shot and it looked like an awkward slop up. Now he takes his time, breaks his man down and gently floats that hook shot right into the nylon. It is the kind of shot that can help win it all.
Then there is his defense, court vision, playmaking, steadying influence, determination, attitude etc. And the fact that almost no team can match up with him. Zo tried to intimidate him and Tay didn't back down.
Then there is the fact that he gave Joe a reasonable deal on his contract. What would Tay be worth on this summers free agent market after his showing in the playoffs? Tayshuan deserves all of our support and I hope that, like Joe Dumars, he is a Piston for life.

It was an interesting sight seeing him go nose to nose with Mourning morning the other night. The size of Mournings shoulders, he is looking WWF.

Re: Prince is a BEAST

Yes he is. If we win it all, Tayshaun should be seriosly considered the MVP of the playoffs unless his game goes completely soft.

The year toyear progression and growth of Tay is absolutely phenomenal.

Oh yeah, I forgot about Hunter! His one on one D is a HUGE lift for us, giving CB, Rip and Tay a much needed breather from having to chase guys like Lebron Jordan and D-Wade around all night.

Hunter is still a great spark plug off the bench.
