I've wondered this myself Thee, especially when we slogged through the middle of the Cleveland series. After all, points in the paint don't only come from post-ups, they also come from fast break lay-ups, floaters, and dunks.
On the other hand, when I was in H.S. our coach didn't let us fast break on the grounds that we weren't talented enough as individuals.
Don't get me wrong, I think the PIstons are talented, but are they talented enough to beat the Heat running? I actually think they are. But then the problem is that to run effectively (unless you are PHX), you need to get stops, def. boards, and/or steals, deflections, etc. We're not really getting that.
If this team is going to run effectively in order to get some easier shots (which I thinnk would be a good idea), it's gonna start with tighter and more active defense.
