| Re: Game 4 : Numb I am horrified at the thought that the Pistons might get their arses whipped by the Heat and Cavs over the course of the next few years. Seems like the 2nd round may be the good side of the future. Frustrated that Joe allowed complacency to build within this team and stood pat with satisfaction as other teams tweaked their rosters. I though the Pistons trademark was TEAMWORK!! All thoughts of a dynasty have been flushed out of my head ![]() Last edited by anakin : 05-30-2006 at 12:59 PM. |

| Re: Game 4 : Numb Numb? Yeah? That pretty much describes the feeling. I'm more or less just sitting here with sort of an emptiness state of mind. That can only be filled with more...no...not cow bell, but...ahhh forget it... ![]() |

I wouldn`t be so upset if the team just competed and loss, but to go out like they are is not good. The team is probably upset also, however, they are upset at the coach and each other. Why not vent that frustration towards the Heat and kick some ass, starting Wednesday night!!!!!!!!!! ![]() |

| Re: Game 4 : Numb Numb is close considering I had to simply remove myself from most of yesterday's broadcast to avoid destroying any of my expensive electronic equipment. I simply can't watch much of this crap because I care TOO much. I get TOO upset. My gf gets pissed at me for getting pissed. My dog now hides from me whenever I raise my voice (even when I'm happy). I have invested TOO much into this team emotionally to sit in front of my TV and calmly take in the implosion of my favorite team. I blame the coach or better yet, the hiring of THIS coach and many people don't want to hear that, but maybe for different reasons. I don't blame the players because I DON'T TRUST THEM. I never did. I didn't want Brown to go because I KNEW these guys couldn't run the ship on their own. However, every fan I knew swore up and down these guys could police themselves and they needed someone to take the reins off. Well, the reins are the f*@# off now aren't they? I knew there needed to be a coach in here to crack the whip and force these guys to do what they should do, to constantly work on the things they needed to do. I knew if they were left to do what they wanted to do, they would take the easy way out, they would resort to jumpers, they would not play tough D without someone chewing their ear. I KNEW this would happen which is why I didn't want a lax coach. So are the players to blame in my opinion? NO. Because I knew these guys couldn't coach themselves so I didn't want them in this position. So maybe the blame falls on Joe D for falling in love with Flip as a replacement. Where I blame Flip is for not calling out his guys or forcing them to do the hard work, to focus on rebounding, to try to get points in the paint, to not solely focus on having a jump shot based offense. He made no adjustments claiming that we don't change our gameplan at the last minute (sounds alot like what Cola used to say). He didn't yank guys when they screwed up so that they got the message (a la LB). These things are excuseable in the regular season, but will get your ass bounced in the playoffs (case in point). I said at the beginning of this year that we have 2nd Round possibly ECF type talent and we needed a championship coach to get these guys over the hump. No one wanted to hear any of it. We BARELY got out of the 2nd Round and surely won't make it out of the ECF. We DO NOT have the talent to win without a very good coach. We now know how far a mediocre coach can take this squad. I for one, am not looking forward to next year if Flip is still the coach. I doubt there will be major turnover on our roster and we are probably in for more being the team that is always in the mix, but can't get over the hump.

| Re: Game 4 : Numb I just hope it doesn't turn into disinterest over the next couple of years, that's the worst. I remember the dark years, no League Pass, a team that rarely played on TV and no hope for a championship. I remember sitting in the stands in listening to the Bulls fans as the Bad Boys were closed out. That was sickening. I guess I am not there yet with these guys because I feel that this team (most of them anyway) still have enough left to make it to the finals one more time. |

| Re: Game 4 : Numb I am more than numb, I am paralized. I have had the sinking feeling since mid-way through the season when they started "flipping the switch." Now that the switch is worn out, we are left with feeble replicas of what used to be. There is the small possiblity that they can be shocked into a couple more resurections, but I'm not counting on it. The Pistons have become a metaphor for the state of our country today and I am sad. ![]() Last edited by congoman : 05-30-2006 at 05:59 PM. |
