I am not giving up on them either. I still believe that we can win this thing, if the real pistons show up.

Thanks G-Man for the positive strokes. I needed that this afternoon, especially with all the Piston haterism going on. I am glad to be on leave, Iwould be catching H right about now from my co-workers.

The Pistons like to be in this type of mess, they are basketbally masochists.

I would truly hate to see Miami celebrating on our home court. Arrgh.

All homeys ain't clowns. Technically, it's the first thread I've started in months. I just got tired of all that hollow sound, all those pitful self-serving tear drops. It's always easier to float downstream than swim upstream. I know there's solace for some in crowded like minded places.

This website wasn't built as a house of solace. It's a house of joy brother, joy.

I wouldn't want it any other way. By winning the next 3 games these Pistons will prove their incredible heart and will is grander than the game itself. They will forever be known as the team that couldn't be broken. They can be beat, but they can't be broken.

G you just described Detroit, nevermind the Pistons, that's how the whole world sees Detroit, and for a moment I fell into that trap.

Re: Pistons stand on the threshold of Infamy..

G-Man as I recall you wrote something similiar to this during the Orlando series when the team was down 1-3. Yes Miami is better but the Pistons were also a lot worse back then as well. I think only about 6 games seperated the 1st and 8th seeds that year.

Hey - I will be there tomorrow. The last thing I want to see is the Pistons lose it at home in 5. I do not want to be sitting there with 21,000 other fans watching the run end.

They can destroy the pompous Heat. They can whittle away their confidence game by game. They can unravel all that is wound, all that is Riley, all that is South Beach until all there is left is sand from the soles of all those Miami sandals as they stagger from their arena. Broken.

I live for moments like the one we are about to live through.
Later I can say I was there, in the shadows, in the light, in the foreground and background and in the moment.

Infamy.
Cool.
Dig it.
Be there - be square.
Pistons can more than just rescue their reputation- they can elevate it to an unknown level. The History books would remember them as probably the team with the most heart ever. If they win the next 3 and then a 7 game series against Dal/Pho- no one would talk about the Birds, the Russells, the Magics or even the Jordans. Forget their many rings, if this team can do it, they'll be forgotten or named AFTER them.
I'm wishin' on a star...

playing poorly for 8 games in a row, then winning 3 in a row doesn't make for great teams. why not play with heart from the start? they wouldn't be in this position. the championship isn't enough motivation for these guys, they have to be in a dire hole in every series too?? gimme a break!

Re: Pistons stand on the threshold of Infamy..

Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more; or close the wall up with our English dead!

For there is none of you so mean and base that hath not noble luster in your eyes. I see you stand like greyhounds in the slip straining upon the start. The games afoot. Follow your spirit, and upon this charge. Cry God for Harry, England and Saint George!

We few, we happy few, we band of brothers, For he today who sheds his blood with me shall be my brother, Be he ne'er so vile, this day shall gentle his condition, and gentlemen in England now abed shall think themselves acursed they were not here, and hold their manhoods cheap whilst any speaks, that fought with us upon St. Crispin's day!
