Next Year

What are 10 things you hope happen next season? Yep I'm already thinking about that even though its 5 months away.
  • The starters average 30 or less minutes per game in the regular season.
  • The rooks and the rest of the youthful bench gets a lot more playing time.
  • The Pistons go under the radar and doesn't have a historical regular season.
  • No Pistons make the all star team.
  • Tay becomes a go to guy.
  • We don't keep putting ourselves in holes. After watching 2 dissapointing season endings it's obvious we lost because we didn't have enough to comeback from a deficit rather than HCA.
  • Joe D. makes big moves.
  • Flip and the team learn from there mistakes this season.
  • Get a hardnosed defensive minded assistant coach.
  • Lastly I hope we can win a championship.

I like your whole list, and especially these two. I'd like to add:
  • No MVP talk for Chauncey.
  • The Pistons keep improving all season and peak during the playoffs.

Re: Next Year

This team plays great with a chip on it's shoulder. I actually want people to start downgrading this team again. I hated it before, but its how this team wins so rip this team apart stupid experts.

Here is another one:
  • Add a quick penetrating gaurd to the roster, or a great lowpost scorer.

Re: Next Year

we need a playoff team 8 deep not 5. Even our main reserves were under utilized. We need to mix it up...we found something that worked early and never deviated.

Re: Next Year

3 players I want this offseason.
  • A Tony Parker/Devin Harris type of player who is young and can penetrate at will of the bench.
  • A post guy who can shoot ft's, but not too many jumpshots in games. I don't want a carbon copy of Sheed I want a guy who will only go inside.
  • A good rebounder and a player who fould hard. A Fortson type of player who will make Wade fall to the floor if he's going to get called for a foul. I'm sick of all the weak foul calls so if they're going to call them might as well bruise up Wade, or Lebron while you're at it.

Re: Next Year

1) Get a bona fide big man through trade or free agency. That person won't start, but will get quality minutes coming off the bench. My choises are: Jake Tskalidis, Brendan Haywood, ZaZa pachulia or Nene.

2) If Saunders stay, we need a defensive minded coach, Bill Laimbeer comes to mind as my first choice.

3) I still say trade Billups for a bona fide point guard.

4) Love to wrestle Delonte Wset away from the Celtics, he is absolutely relentless.

5) We need someone who could back up Tayshaun and could actually score. Jared Jeffries is a free agent and is long, wiry and energetic like Rip.

6) WE NEED A BENCH

7) Give the Rooks some playing time. Amir & J-Max need time on the floor

I say don't trade CB, or else we'd get swept like we did against NJ. The guy averaged 40 mpg after carlos Arroyo left. We need to get a ood backup pg for him, and we need a bench.

Re: Next Year

1) Dump Sheed / sign replacement

2) Play AJ & Jmax 15min/game combined minimum

3) Bury Mo and Dice on the bench

4) Delf 10min/game OR sign allstar caliber slasher (past or present)

5) Starters stay under 32min/game

6) Dump DD for a young DD-esque player.

7) Dump Delk/LH/Acker

8) Sign a pure PG backup

9) Ben resigns for 10mil per/4 years

10) If CB ever EVER gets big headed again, ship him off like sheed.

Re: Next Year

Fire Flip, Hire Adelman.

Re-sign Ben to a high dollar 4 year deal. I'm thinking $12 million to start.

Use Davis as the 4th big and backup center.

Allow Cato, Hunter and Delk to retire/leave.

Make a serious play on Speedy Claxton.

Trade Delfino and the Orlando pick if possible for PG help (have to check some rosters) or for 2 mid-late future first rounders (assuming he requests a trade).

That leaves us with 3 open roster spots assuming we keep our 2nd round draft pick. If we sign Claxton or trade Delfino for a player, that's 2 open spots, if we do both, that's one open spot. Use the veterans minimum to bring in David Wesley.

I'm just tossing stuff at the wall... But I do like Adelman. He can coach O and D, he'll fight with refs, he's coached headcases, he's capable of running a passing offense that scores and he's got loads of playoff experience.

Nov 13 LW Milan Lucic had an active night. He scored his first goal in eight games since his Oct. 25 hat trick and also pounded Michael Komisarek in a third-period fight. Lucic cut his hand in a fight with Michael Komisarek. "I'll be fine," he said. "(X-rays are) negative, but there's so many broken bones in there from before you can't really tell."
