Free Agents

We have to make a big move this offseason, and I have a feeling there will be a big move (please don't leave Ben). Out of the free agents though who should we try to get?

Re: Free Agents

I don't know enough about Banks to choose him, but several other posters have seemed high on him.

I'll go with Jason Terry, although I'd prefer the Mike James from our Championship season - but that dude is gone forever.

Re: Free Agents

free agent list from hoopsworld

http://www.hoopsworld.com/article_13008.shtml

The way I think it will pan out is bye bye cato d.d.(why did we sign him anyway? to play who?) possibly hunter. That leaves room for a few pick ups like..

Al Harrington if he is available I would love to pick him up to back up Tay, but this role could easily be played by someone from the bench- delf, aj, jmax.

Eddie Griffin. Shot blocker to help Dyess when both Walleces take a breather has some range as well.

Nazr Mohammed another big body to throw at shaq but much younger than dd

Jason Terry is way to pricey but it would be sweet.

Just remember we have 2 2nd round picks in the draft and we could improve our 1, 3, 5 that way as well.

I like Harrington also, but someone said he is a turnover waiting to happen and is lazy on defense.

Didn`t Atlanta offer him for Darko? He may have helped us this year. Anyway, I like him and would go after him if we could afford him.

Re: Free Agents

I think Bonzi would be a great pick up because he's a gaurd who can rebound very well.

Re: Free Agents

Can any of the cap savvy tell me if the Pistons can spend as much as they want if they are willing to pay the luxury tax or are they still governed by the different exception classes?
Could they for ex. pick up Cassell if he wanted $7-8M?

Re: Free Agents

Nene, but realistically, Banks would be a good pick-up.

They can if they do not re-sign Ben. That is the quick and dirty answer. It is needless to say a lot more complicated if they sign Ben (for any size raise). I'll try to post more info soon.

How do you like DD as your starting center?

Re: Free Agents

The decent ones want to start and I don't see any of those guys as upgrades over our current starters.

Who wants out of their current teams, which teams are looking to overhaul their rosters and which 03 draft class players are not signing extension that we can get on potential sign/trades? Pistons finished in the top 4 so you can imagine that most everyone else is not standing pat either.

Not a good answer Figure out a plan where the Stones can re-sign Ben and get a quality bench i.e. C/PF and a PG.

No thanks. I like DD of the bench, if he would get a chance to hit the court. I want Mo traded so that Delfino can be given consistent minutes.
