Here the thing. I was looking at the ECF stats for the 1st time

AS a team the Pistons scored 84.7 versus 89.9. The points allowed were about on par with the what they let in during the reg season.

FG%. Huge difference of .397 to .515

Offensive boards and TO's were good at 11.3/8 and 12.0/16.0 respectivly.

Pistons shot 1 more free throw than the Heat and at a better PCT .740/.634.

Ben Wallace only averaged 34.3 MPG, most of that was not foul trouble rather coaches decision even though Dyess did not bring that much more offense. Ben only avg 9.5 RPG and .67 BPG. Sheed only avg 0.33 BPG. The 2 Wallaces were completely ineffective in their no fly zone.

Blocks per game - Pistons 2.5 Heat 6.0

Scoring leaders were Rip,Billups, Prince, Sheed, Ben, Dyess at
(20.7, 18.0, 16.2, 10.5, 6.0, 6.0 ). Billups averaged 7.2 APG. Actually Billups surprisingly put up decent stats even with game 6.

3-pt PCT's were .288 for and .295 against. Billups and Sheed both shot .255 in 3's and Rip shot .294.

Kind of looks like a team that lost their shot and had things going overall except for the opponent enjoying a high FG%. It does not look like a system designed for the playoffs. Perhaps it was too predictable for the Heat to figure out or Sheeds ankle injury which limited him in the post took away too many open shot opps for the team. Also the heart and soul of the Team Ben Wallace was not much of a factor.

Thanks for the stats Max, you knew based on visual observation we would be on the down side of the stats comparison. Remember the statement we heard all last year "This team was built for the playoffs...well looks like we were better suited for the regular season

Nov 13 LW Milan Lucic had an active night. He scored his first goal in eight games since his Oct. 25 hat trick and also pounded Michael Komisarek in a third-period fight. Lucic cut his hand in a fight with Michael Komisarek. "I'll be fine," he said. "(X-rays are) negative, but there's so many broken bones in there from before you can't really tell."
