If Miami Wins the Title...Get Ready pistons Fans

I am finally coming from under the fog of the Pistons loss. Its been very depressing.

Anyway, if Miami wins the championship....get ready for all the Pistons backlash, specifically heat players taking pot shots at the Pistons, especially Alonzo Mourning.

When the season starts, Shaq & the rest of the players will have a never ending smirk on their faces until they are dethroned.

Jermiane Oneal will of course be in his world because he predicted the Pistons demise.

All the major sportscasters from Barkley on down will be very hesitant in giving us any credibility.

Michael Wilbon who stated that we were not that great from the beginning will continue his long diatribe and his hatred for the pistons for years to come.

Dee Brown will probably get a promotion because he also predicted the pistons would lose.

All of the teams in the Eastern Conference won't give a hoot about vying for home court advantage because the pistons set a precedence in how HC advantage means nothing.

Sports radio will ride D. Wade, LBJ and Kobe's jock strap from here to eternity.

We will have no-one on the All-Star team in 2007.

I know there are at least 50 other anti/negative pistons things to look forward to for the the 2007 season.............

Maybe that`s exactly what the Pistons need. If this season did nothing else it deflated a few egos!

However, a Heat ship will send me into a deeper depression that the Piston loss. Payton, Mourning, Walker, Haslem...........NBA Champs??

May God have mercy on us all..............

I remember a saying in my Physics class; depression is anger, without the enthusiasm!!!!!

If that happens, and MIA still gets the whistles in dallas, we need a superstar to be a contender. Bill Simmon's newest article is spot in every way, although he doesn't really talk much about shadyness of the refs and officiating in general. But if Miami wins, the league basically reverts to what it was in the late 90s early 2000s, and destroys the progress the league has made in the last 2 years about being an EXCITING (fast-paced, low whistles), TEAM (superstars unnecessary) game.

So if you want to contend, you need a superstar that can abuse use the system to their advantage.

Sluck has it right. The problem is that the league is going full-blown to a new star model--worse than before because you can't play defense. We do not have a slasher/driver to take advantage of the new rules or a superstar. That is why every Piston fan should be concerned about the refs in the Dallas series and support Cuban in his criticism.

What do you think the calls will be next year with us vs. Wade and Le Bron. Let us not be naive to think that things will go our way. I wonder if we can win with this new NBA of Stern.

Ain't no superstar everwhere for everyone to pick, so instead of to get one, gonna set DW & LBJ up to WC and we can at least go as deep as final.

I seriously doubt Miami is thinking much about the Pistons anymore or will spend anytime thinking about the Pistons if they win. Its was only 1 year for them. Its not like when Jordans Bulls lost to us 3 years in a row.

Actually I highly doubt many people at all will be thinking about the Pistons until they start making some noise during the season.

You are right Max on one hand....however I still think that whatever Heat role players are left over for next year, they will look down on the Pistons thinking that they are more superior than the Pistons and some media types will still say that they probably should have beaten the Pistons in 05

Now Shaq has guaranteed a repeat as long as Wade as by his side. So he is not thinking about the Pistons, Suns, Mavs or Spurs. That means even he believes wade will get al, of the calls for the next 5 years...

They have already said most of that. Better get used to the fact that the Pistons are yesterdays news. Barring any big trades there will be articles written about Ben and his contract talks and thats about it. Given the Heats schlacking of the Pistons in game 6 - can you blame them? But they will not be thinking much about the Pistons until we have to play them again. This is not at all like Indys fascination of our team, only reason why they dwelled on the Pistons is because they could never beat them.

Back to being ignored. if the Pistons need that motivation they will have it now. I don't what it is about our team that they always need some external motivation.

Rick Kamla just said he thinks it will be a Miami-phoenix 2007 NBA Finals. Hope the trend continues and it ends up helping the team.
