ECF III Miami vs Detroit, who will advance to the Finals in 2006-2007

Ok the Heat won it all, who would have believed it a few months ago. Pat Riley looks like a freaking genius about now to the dismay of most of us. I for one was calling for him to resign midway through the season.

Riley built his team to defeat the Pistons, it did, and won the title.

What will Joe D do now to counter? Can he stay competitive with the shrewd Riley? Hell, will Riley make any moves during the offseason to improve his team? I bet some free agents out there might take a pay cut to play alongside Shaq and Wade next year enroute to a ship!!!

Who will be the players in next years ECF for the Heat and Pistons?

You do believe the ECF will feature Miami and Detroit don`t you?

It would be the the 3rd year in a row to see who represents from the East.....

Just what, 3 months till training camp???

17 days to Summer League.

I don't think Miami will get back to the ECF. The stars aligned for that team at the right time. Dallas folded like an accordion and the Pistons played like punks. Shaq isn't getting any younger and I'm not buying this "Wade is the next Jordan" garbage. I think that was it for Miami. If Detroit does what it can do, they win that series. I think the Pistons will have blood in their eyes next season. That being said, I don't expect Detroit to get the No. 1 seed next season. I hope to see them work in some of the bench (this has become the mantra) and this might cause them to take a hit in their Win/Loss record. If that's the case, so be it. After this Miami title run, THE FUTURE IS NOW.

I wouldn't be surprised if neither Wade or Shaq make it to the ECF next year. Time is running out quickly for the big fella and this may have been his last healthy season. And Wade is such an injury prone player and he whines and complains about everything from constipation to an upset stomach I think he has a Penny Hardaway career ahead of him.

Pistons next year.

Yep, for about 365 days. Enjoy it while it lasts. You never know when it will end either with a Dwyane Wade fatal enema or Shaq getting wounded in the line of duty as a reserve policeman.

Right now things don't look good. We are caught is a Wade/leBron sandwich. They will get the calls next year--even more than this year. Take it to the hoop and get the whistle. How are we going to over come that? Maybe 20 foul shots a game. Let's do the math.

We need to search for real answers. Let's be realistic. The deck is stacked against us in this new, soft NBA.
