Which, when I re-read the Nick Young bio, I saw things like, "doesn't always compete", "intensity is inconsistent", which may explain why we passed.

As far as Samb is concerned. He immediately took it upon himself to remake his body and push himself to get better. Has his durability really been tested?

Cowen's list assumes experience as a result of all of the main 5 factors. If Samb is even remotely ready and possesses the "big 5", we could see him quite a lot this year.

Re: Samb & Acker tracker

I thought I read somewhere here that the Pistons needed to make a qualifying offer to Alex Acker before June 30 to retain his rights. Did they do it? Did I dream this? Anyone know?

Re: Samb & Acker tracker

stereodave, your facts are correct.

However, we do not know if they tendered the QO to retain Acker's rights. Our beat writers don't come off as basketball fans because this minutiae is what the die hards want to follow in the offseason.

Re: Samb & Acker tracker

how is it that no piston beat writer has figured this out? how is it that the pistonsforum.com has more knowledge and/or insight to the pistons without ever having been to a pistons practise or ever spoken to a pistons player/staff?

that is absurd. tell us what's going on with acker!

I may be wrong on that, but is it possible that since he didn't play for Pistons this past season that the original offer still stands?

That is because they get paid to write about this stuff.

It is not only in sports. Even financial writers for Dow Jones, Bloomberg etc, write is a lot of careless unresearched material.

I think a lot of it has to do with deadlines and other responsibilities. Most people approach their job with a lot less passion then they do a hobby or special interest.

The exceptions are the entrepreneurs who have a passion for their chosen field.

Re: Samb & Acker tracker

A site called sportsnet.ca lists Acker as a Restricted Free Agent............
I believe the site is updated...............
