Man y'all crazy. The adoration for young unproven players that can not contribute to a championship run simply amazes me on these forums. LOOK!!!! The road to a title goes through Indy/Miami and then SanAnton.

Lindsey is critical in those series. Against Indy you're looking at a guy that can shut down their PG (1st and 2nd string) and change the flow of the game, against Miami he proved to be very useful against Wade.

Joe is very smart with this roster he knows you are going to have to beat Miami to win the East, so he gets a roster where he can throw waves of fresh defenders at their top 2 players. If you're Wade you get guarded by Tayshaun, Rip, Mo Evans and Lindsey??? He will never get a free play in a best of seven series.

Against SanAnton, same scenario for Ginobli and Parker, I personally believe that Joe brought in Evans with Ginobli in mind.

You guys somtimes tend to forget that the playoffs for a legit contender has different demands than a regular playoff team. If you're Chicago, Wash, Clev, or Milw it's in you're best interest to cut Lindsey and go with unproven youth because your window is 3-5 years down the road, for us WE NEED LINDSEY MORE THAN ACKER. Acker has not done 1 thing in this NBA preseason to make you say, "wow, he can really play and help this team".....this ain't summerleague!!!!

Hate to say this but...

Trade Arroyo to Atlanta for Delk (been saying that all summer), Retire Hunter and keep Acker. Why? Delk is a fine defender and three ball threat in his last year which frees up some cash for Prince and B. Wallace. Hunter has served, but with out the knees and ankles his defence will suffer. Billups, Delk and Acker are great PGs to have.

I've said it before but I'd prefer seeing Ron make the roster and sending AJ to the D league for a season.

Alright I'm done. My foot is getting tired from all this kicking.
Oh oh...better check the bottom of your shoe. I think you stepped in something squishy.

I think you make a very good point. In our particular position we will need Hunter down the road this year more than we need a rookie with potential.

There are times when keeping your word is worth as much as the millions you dish out to any given player. I understand that when Joe traded lindsey away, he told him that he'd try to get him back. And he did. The articles surrounding Joe and Lindsey insinuate that Joe gave Lindsey assurances that he would retire a piston.

Lindsey has been a model employee for this franchise since he was drafted and he still has a role on this team. I don't see Joe waiving Lindsey and I don't see him playing games like making him video professor or court sweeper just to open a roster spot for a guy that was passed up by virtually every team...twice.

and ditto what KGREG said too.

hmmm

Maybe it would be in the best interest for everyone if we just trade Dupree to New Orleans or some other lottery team for a second round pick. I don't think Lindsey deserves a spot over Dupree, but it doesn't really make sense to have 4 backup SF's if you are counting Maxiell.

Dave, exactly. Thank you.

It doesn't matter how great Ron plays unless he can steal Evans job. We're married to J-Max for at least 2 years.

It's not about who gets voted off of the island vs. another player per se, but at which position. Some positions have a lot of depth. The 3 is one of them.

Keep in mind that Super Dup has an expiring deal this year and even if he stays with the Pistons, he'll probably never see 10 MPG.

I in no shape form or fashion see J-Max being able to play the 3 spot, dude is not athletic or agile enough for that in this league.

Wave and Dave think about this, there is no more depth at the wing than there is at the pt spot. Joe and johnny H have said that if Acker is going to make this squad it will be at the 1. Has Ack shown anything that we can't eventually get from any journeyman PG?? Now pre-season isn't over, but I'm not blown away by Ack, he's aiight, but he isn't demonstrating to the team....cutting ME(Ack) will be a huge mistake, they way Dupree is, and has done. Hell I feel Smush had/has more game, upside and athletecism than Ack does.

Dupree

I don't see how anyone that watched last night's game would want to trade Dupree. I would rather trade Acker for a 2nd round pick or release Hunter. Dupree can make a difference in games this year.

I am also of the opinion that I would lose a little of my very real respect for Lindsay if he stays, if it means we have to lose either Acker or Dupree. I just cannot see Lindsay making a huge contribution this year, but I have been wrong before.

I was wrong about one thing, one time. I thought I had made a mistake.
Why yall hating on lindsey man? I'm very sure he'll be here for a couple more years.
