Now that's just weird. Hard to explain that one.

Another curious stat...the Pistons are 9-1 in Fri & Sat night games and 4-6 in the others

Reminded me of lyrics to an old tune:

"Nothing matters but the weekend"...The Kings

Re: A Very Interesting Stat Indeed

That is a crazy stat.

Its also crazy that they've played 14 back-to-backs compared to only 6 stand alones.

Call me crazy, but I don't think Stern likes the Pistons. We'd better be careful or else he might start changing league rules to hurt us. Nah, he wouldn't do that would he?

Re: A Very Interesting Stat Indeed

Reason for the Pistons leading the league in back-backs is availability of the Palace.

Each year teams submit which days they can accomodate home games and the league sends back a schedule that the teams approve. So Piston management approved the 22 back-backs ( 44 games ).

I prefer to blame it on a Stern conspiracy. Its sexier than "scheduling conflict".

Indy is a road stand alone. It's time to snap out of that. They're playing fine now. A little too much CB maybe and not enough Brahma.

Or like Chris McCosky puts it, the Pistons "were 13-1 in the previous 13 games."

Last year they were a 0.500 team on Saturday night. Saturday, Sunday, and Monday were their worst days. I think Nazr has thrown off the essential biological astral stuff that determines winning in the NBA.

Re: A Very Interesting Stat Indeed

"To come out and play against these elite teams, I don't worry about that," Tayshaun Prince said. "When you're playing ... guys that are below .500, those are the games that we throw away."

This is what has always bothered me about Taz...no gut-check attitude where one would say, "we should win all of them...no excuses."

This is just a systemic attitude that this team starts each game with...both home and away. Can anyone even dream of AI saying this?

JD has a serious problem on this ball club and he best find a take charge guy quick.

These guys may get away with this attitude in the "attitude" East, but when time rolls around in meeting the West teams, you can hang it up.
